The skirt will obtrate when the air blast hits it. It will instantly expand to seal the bore and be squeezed at the choke. The head size is where the accuracy comes to play. At 2000psi, there will be about 140 lbs of force applied to the skirt. The skirt will Ballon just a touch bit the head will not. If the head is small, the center line axis will not be true to the bore axis. This results in a pellet that is trying to spin a venter of form around a center of gravity, and they are not congruent. If the bore is .300 and the pellet head is .301, but the skirt is .299, this is far more forgiving than the other way around. The head will pivot like a ball joint as the skirt obtrates to fit the bore. The pellet form will be true to its own axis and to the bore axis. This should result in a pristine flight path to target. hope that was articulated fairly well.

Pellet resizing really makes difference!

Not really really, but slightly more, i notice less flyers, lower ES/SD. Going to make different sizer like resize the head in different size but keeping the skirt slightly bigger.

@@ernestrowe5061 my pellet resizer is tapered one way but the pellet pusher dept is adjustable. In that way i can create multiple pellet headsize!

I experimented with resizing last year, I ordered the wrong size resizer. You need to measure the head of the pellet and then order a resizer that will keep the skirt larger than the head. When your done resizing you can roll the pellet across a table and it should roll in an ark, if it rolls in a straight line that's not good in my rookie opinion.

Now make a sizer for.218 slugs so I can resize them to.217.5 my 800mm fx slug liner loves.217.5 slugs but they are mostly just a flaw or oddity. Huge interest. Major rabbit 🕳️ for me lol

Could you gently push a pellet all the way through your barrel and measure it afterward to get a rough size on what the optimal pellet size is, or would it be better to just mic the barrel’s choke?

I've seem resizer before but they resized the entire length of the pellet, thus killing the flare or stabilizing effect of the skirt. Where can I acquire one of these units.
