All things being equal if you're shooting 34 grain 22 cal slugs at say 950 fps on the FX impact 600 mm barrel and the FX Pantera 600 mm Barrel what would be the difference in terms of shot count? For what I've seen you can also add another 300cc bottle to the front of the gun which would improve hand holding?

It's good FX have taken the valve system set-up from Edgun (apparently) but I'm not sure that the ED/SD was ever an issue. It was always down to the tune & projectile quality. But it's sad to hear there's already negative thoughts with those who own one (i turned the offer of one down) so will defo look forward to some serious small groups at 50/100/150/200yds etc which is what it was meant to do. Keep up the good work 🙂

I am seriously considering a Panthera 0.25. They look superb and have such consistent shot strings. Could you tell me where you got your outdoor shooting bench from or could you possibly provide drawings for what you use as it’s perfect. I love plywood build and would like to build one myself. Many thanks 🙏

Hi 👋 took my first shots with the Panthera today and it’s very pleasant to shoot 👌 accuracy out of the box was good specially to shoot slugs at high velocity which normally takes a lot of tuning to get to this level . So it’s all looking good for the Panthera at the moment 👌 About the bench there is a video on my channel with that specific bench , plans included 👊 . If you build it you can always make the top surface a little bigger then on the drawing as we also did

@@Airbuks it’s not a criticism just an area where fx really need to put some development. If you shoot one of the top brand rifles then shoot an fx you really can feel the difference, it’s a very basic system. This is the reason my impact is a fun gun rather than a competitive gun.

Airbuks, I find it odd the 22 caliber Panthera is coming in tuned for the 34 grain slug rather than the 40 grain since the premise was to initially compete in close proximity to the 22 rimfire for competition . Time will tell how well this new Panthera will do , both in popularity and reliability. Reliability should be FX’s number one priority as I am seeing issues with the Impact line being pushed to the limits with heavier slugs and speeds with the 800mm barrel . Vibration , o-ring failure , quality control or is it more to do with the Impact having reached its peak ? I would like to hear from the 12 foot pound crowd to see how well they have faired with leaks ? If they have problems then what is it ? Poor o-ring material , quality control or owners doing a poor job of working on their own equipment etc….. I realize you are doing a service in the introduction of new products . I subscribe because you do an excellent job . I don’t expect an answer but when I promote others into the PCP world and recommend a product like the M3 , only to have it come out of the box with issues , it makes me rethink what I am promoting. I’ll sit on the fence for a while with the Panthera .
@hankvana2149 Жыл бұрын
I'm waiting for my .22/700 Panthera. FX USA confirmed that the 22/700 configuration will be factory tuned for best accuracy and "the average users needs" with a 30 grain H&N slug. Guess they are balancing power to shot-count to stresses. Beyond the stock factory configuration, 40 grain and max power requires mods (Tungsten hammer and pin probe) and is considered to be a special setup. IMHO, if someone needs that level of power the maybe they should be considering a .25 or a.30 caliber. I don't need the power and will likely be tuning to 25 grain pellets/slugs. Each to their own 😀 Cheers!
@Airbuks Жыл бұрын
Hi , you are right about that the impact is reaching its limit at the moment needing a 800mm barrel and tungsten hammer etc to push the 40gr at 1020fps . I believe the dynamic block is the answer to that to generate the same power without the need of those parts . Regarding the reliability, I am not sure what to think of it or how it comes people are having these problems. I own 6 FX rifles some are in the box for several weeks or even months without leaking or creep . This past year I had one leak and that was in my impact m3 for the rest I didn’t have any issue. I am still very confident to “ promote “ FX if you want to call it like that 😉 but I am always saying this isn’t a airgun for everyone. It’s a great airgun if you maintain is wel and know how to set it up .
@hotchihuahua1546 Жыл бұрын
I did receive my FX MKII generation three just before the M3 came out and had issues a couple of hundred rounds with inconsistency in speed . The C-1 was lose and I fixed that problem . Soon after I got a leak in the o-rings holding the plenum into the main body . I replaced it with new O- rings and have shot thousands of rounds without issues . I will say the pin probe caused issues . Pryor to Huma coming out with a modified standard probe , I modified mine with results that equaled performance of the pin probe . To keep reliability on the MKII , I will stay with the lighter slugs from 22 grain & 28 grain with a velocity of 900 to 990 FPS . I can transition from one to the other and adjust the power wheel for best performance . In the future for me is another 22 PCP that can consistently handle 40 + grain slugs at the threshold of sonic speeds . The FX Panthera and the Skout Epoch are of interest . Time will tell how well they perform . With accuracy at distance with slugs , trigger feel , consistent and repeatable velocities , reliability , maintenance , parts availability as my benchmark .

In general it is a beautiful rifle, but it has 2 drawbacks for which in my case, i will not buy it. 1 - Shooting 40g slugs at a good speed, requires a high air flow, and that 300cc bottle is not enough for the autonomy that I demand from a rifle. If we put an extra bottle on the front, we have to remove one of the most beautiful parts of the rifle. 2- It is too long, a 700mm version which is what I would buy, with a silencer it is excessively long. I'll wait a little longer to buy some FX that outperforms my impact M3. Good video as always. greetings.
@Airbuks Жыл бұрын
Hi , those are some good point and a clear look at it , as in this configuration it’s not for everyone. I am convinced that the dynamic block is a great step forward and I am sure there will be a variation that will suit different needs
@tomlpnexus Жыл бұрын
@@Airbuks I think the same. this system will make a difference from before and after in FX rifles, if they can make a rifle that you don't have to sacrifice on aesthetics for autonomy or efficiency, or both. Designing a bullpup-type configuration to use long barrels without the weapon exceeding 1 meter (with silencer included) and with the dynamic block, at least almost certainly, they will have convinced me. Because in the end, aesthetics and performance are a determining factor to convince people to invest a significant sum of money in an air rifle.

Awesome unboxing vid! Mine is arriving next week so it’s nice to get a preview of what I can expect. I have the 600mm on the way. Can I ask what bipod is mounted to the one in your video? Also what height element mounts are u using? I have the Titan 3-18 but the dealer told me the Element mounts wouldn’t work (too short) and supplied me with the FX ones instead…
@Airbuks Жыл бұрын
Thx for the support mate ! The bipod I am using is a accu tac one , there is a video about that one on my channel . Regarding the mounts your dealer is more or less right . At the moment I am using the element high mounts but in combination with the 34 mm Titan it’s tricky as you have to mount the scope far enough backwards so the part that houses the turrets clears the magazine. Mounting the FX rings fixed that but then in my opinion the scope sits to high for my personal comfort
@fordlaz7796 Жыл бұрын
@@Airbuks Thanks for the detailed reply. Definitely going to check out your Accutac review! I’ve been looking at some of their models and have almost decided what I want but that model I don’t think has pan capabilities which I think may be advantageous for me. I also prefer my scope a bit lower - will hopefully find the sweet spot with the FX mounts, but thanks for confirming my dealer’s concerns. Love your content - and I’m super excited to see how things evolve with your Panthera. I’m interested to see whether the front mounted cylinder is plug and play or if there is any other modification required for it.

@Airbuks I have a .22/700 on order and plan on adding a second 700 cc bottle. Been doing a lot of research and it is (currently) not a straightforward upgrade. The standard FX bottle adapter is too long and has to be modified. The rear bottle adapter does not fit into the dynamic block so moving the rear bottle forward is not an option. Apparently FX will not be selling the front bottle adapter saying that it will be available from HuMa and Saber Tactical. I've heard that a dual bottle Panthera will be available "soon" but I'm not holding my breath ;)

@@hankvana2149 🤔 thx for the heads up , I was told it’s as simple as adding a bottle adapter like the one at the back. So I will investigate that , thx for the heads up . Huma is working on a adapter so you might be correct that it’s not as simple as screwing in a existing one 😉

Every aspect of a product must be completely user reversable, or naturally accessible from both sides (think mirror image) to be considered ambidextrous.
