I liked the relationship . You can't expect Raylan looking so old having relationship with someone his daughter age.

I like that they cast an age appropriate love interest but Carolyn looked about 10 years older than Raylan (even though Ellis is younger) and they kept dressing her like she was a grandma headed to the nearest retirement home. When he reunited with Winona at the end, the chemistry and sizzle between them was so evident. None of that came through with Carolyn.

I was probably the most excited about Ellis joining the show because I LOVE her in Lovecraft Country. She's phenomenal. But City Primeval is... not good. And while she has some decent scenes, she is the lead in a series that is billed as a Raylan story where he barely speaks or has much of a presence. Not to mention, she really has no chemistry with Olyphant. They needed to spend way more time fleshing out the relationship between Clement and Raylan. Very weird decision to have those two barely interact but give Carolyn 4 different subplots and none of them are even intersting.

Did they really have to force a relationship... between raylan and the lawyer 🙄 if she were at least attractive...it would be believable. A part of me knew it was going to happen...at the start of the show . Things are very predictable these days. That said...the show is pretty weak and disappointing. Pales in comparison, to the original.

I know it. I lost it when they shagged lol. I understand Raylan is a horndog and he needs a little excitement in the show but the lawyer, really!! It’s an alright show but it’s just not Justified to me.

She is a beautiful woman. At 54 she looks darn good! They were anticipating complaints like yours.

@@user-to3vn9xy2f She's fine looking, a bit overweight (I don't care about that btw). But if you've seen the original show, Raylan would never be attracted to her and they have zero chemistry. She's also not the best actress and the character is rather boring.

@@robinh4 Correction...She's a beautiful black woman. Overweight? We're not her doctors. Added weight for a role? Who knows. Raylan Givens is a character in a book made for tv. A character can be made to evolve-to mature, to look at life differently, to make different choices. These criticisms comes across as racism for the most part.

@@user-to3vn9xy2f You cannot accuse everybody of racism if they don't like a character or actor. What does the colour of her skin have to do with it? I feel like some just defend a character/actor because of their skin colour. When I said fine looking I meant she's not ugly, she's pretty in general. But for Raylan's love interest she does not fit the role and lacks chemistry with him. They could've hired another black actress, that fit his type, she's not it. Have you seen the original Justified tv show?
