I have a 99. Most fun bike I have ever owned. I am 82 years old, and the pillow seat and buck horn bars are comfortable for me. I started on a 1942 "45" Flat Head when I was 14, back in 1955. Anyway, thanks for a great video. I love the EVO engine.

It has been a great bike. Unfortunately for me my hips can't take long rides with the forward controls any more. So mostly just around town.

@@andrewmacarthur1976 Thanks Andrew. I am 83 now and went for a ride this morning before the rain came in. My wife use to ride with me, but not anymore. But she says when I come home I always have a grin on my face. I ride most of the time with goggles and no windshield. But then, most of my riding is around where I live a couple of miles from the nearest town of about 6500 population. Lots of back road riding just listening to the drag pipes and watching the sun glint off the head light. Makes my day. I got hooked when I was 8 years old riding a friends Whizzer motor bike around the school yard.

I know this is old but relevant. Beautiful bike and awesome camera! Just bought a 96 Fxstc off of my brother. He took good care of it. He bought it new late 95. Had to put a new voltage regulator and speedometer today, but all stock and original and after almost 20 years she's perfect. Same color scheme as yours, different logo. Great bikes and that EVO. Just keeps on giving. I also have a 94 FXR and a 98 1200 custom sportster. All EVOs. Beautiful bike. Thanks for the video

It has been a great bike. The only thing that I have had to repair was the stator, I replaced the regulator at the same time. Tires and tune-ups, along with oil changes, and that is about it except for things I wanted to change

Nice bike! 👍 I've got a 2008 fxstc, I love it! It does everything I want from a bike. I had a '94 Evo fxstc and to be honest I can't choose between them. I'm 70 and the all day riding comfort is second to none. 🇬🇧

The newer engine has a lot more power than the stock 1988 Evo engine. I tried one out several years ago and was impressed. They have engine conter balancing now as well. I still love my "old tech" motor though.

Been riding 89Fxstc since 94. My only bit×h, no mid frame pegs. I love the forward control set up. But it's nice to be able to move your feet around. My ×ss started to hurt. Hook up some frame clamp foldup peg between tranny and nose cone. Other side, used early shovel inspect cover that came with a peg mount. 🤠🤯🇺🇸🇮🇱🇬🇧💪
@ejhbritishcars6907 Жыл бұрын
I installed slightly more forward controls on my bike. It allows my legs to be a bit straighter and I can also ride with the back of my ankles over the pegs for a second position. Not as versatile as your modification but still helpful.

You got the right bike...what gearing did you go to and did you have to get a shorter belt? My inner is off thinking of putting on a 34, but don't want to buy a belt. My axle is completely centered now with a 32...
@ejhbritishcars6907 Жыл бұрын
I got a rear sprocket that was 2 teeth smaller than the stock one. It did need a shorter belt to get the axle back to a reasonable position on the swing-arm. Well worth the effort as in 1988 all the softtalls had the same rear ratio and my bike is much lighter than a dressed FatBoy.
@joracer1 Жыл бұрын
@@ejhbritishcars6907 Dude again that's a sweet evo softail, the colors are spot on...i love mine it's a custom all black though. I kinda don't like my bars, they're rolled forward a little bit more that yours. Well imo they could be better, there 10,000 sets of bars out there, and noone wants what I want. I'd like 3"to 4" higher and less rake on the controls but use the stock riser. I guess I need to join a softail club. Btw I stuck with stock gearing, because it'll never see much over 55mph.
@ejhbritishcars6907 Жыл бұрын
The colour is stock and it is still original factory paint. The bars are stock as well. I did loosen the clamp and change the rake till they "fell" under my hands when I am seated.as I felt that I was reaching a bit in the position they were in when I bought it.
@aquahombre5 ай бұрын
Did you change your primary cover?.
@ejhbritishcars69075 ай бұрын
I changed the Derby Cover but the inner and outer covers are stock. HD changed the design of the covers in 1989. I expect that is because to change the stator on my bike you have to remove the inner cover as it necks down just outboard of the stator which traps it in the cover.
@aquahombre5 ай бұрын
@@ejhbritishcars6907 I have a 1987 FXSTC with the same primary cover, I thought it was 1988 Harley changed the primary cover. My 87 looks similar in color to yours, but without the gold leafing.
