1965 Vintage rare Fyr Fyter siren. Has old school low tones with extended rise and fall times. They also made a model with a rotary switch instead of the pushbuttons. 75 watt claimed output. Reset button is a circuit breaker.

Would love to find a Fyr Fyter Penetrator. In 1960 we had an ambulance equipped with one. Never had any problem with traffic.

Beautiful siren! They sure as hell don't make em like this anymore! Those slow rises and falls with the Wail and the wind-down is amazing. Don't even get me started on the yelp!

That growl at the end of manual and beginning of the wail sounds very powerful

As usual!! An amazing video on an awesome piece of Emergency Service history!! I recall riding the tailboard around 1985 on our 1962 Thibault with the "Penetrator" clearing the way!! Love that low slow wail tone!!

Wow! this ol' timer would still clear traffic to this day! I remember an old red cross ambulance having this sound on it when I was a kid. ;-)

Dallas PD had these sirens duing the 1960's. I can remember hearing these sirens on live reports when Kennedy was gunned down.

Yes that is correct. There are 2 wires for manual depending if you want a ground or a +12 volt source to control it.

Sounds like an air raid siren and an old fire truck

sounds something like an STH-10, but electronic and slightly higher pitch

My understanding is that you do control MAN option using an external momentary switch, correct?

I wonder what the RESET button does on that..Does it rest the tones or what?

They used a circuit breaker instead of a fuse. That's the CB reset button.
