Anyone remember the first ever race were the entire time it was muted I think many people say they love to watch the race. But I don't believe they really do its something tactical they are both doing too try and not give up too much of anything

I get why both guilds choose to go dark, there's a solid logic to it from a competition perspective. But...why bother making a streamed "Race to World First" event if that's what they do? Nobody made them publicly stream these races and it feels incredibly disengaging. Just my personal opinion but I strongly feel if they are going to do a streamed race to world first, they should commit to streaming it fully. I realise though that's always going to give the other competitors an advantage through copying. Maybe there's no good answer and I do appreciate the opposite opinion, it's just purely from a viewer perspective it's made me stop watching.

As long as the going dark is only a few hours towards the end as they've learned new info and are just spending abunch of time secretly info dumping testing and learning something, all to come back streaming hours later or the next morning anyways. I'm down with it.

Sure they start first, but being first is actually generally worse. You get to PTR test the fights, and your strats are constantly yoinked. Things that took Liquid 100 pulls to learn, Echo knew and could perform in >20 pulls because Liquid already did it for them. Echo is generally overall the better guild, that is true, but Liquid losing 4-5 hours to PTR testing T. Swift and just having more attempts on Fyrakk before the nerf is ultimately a disadvantage.

@@OWnIshiiTrollingI mean if we wanna get technical Echo has time to go into mythic before Liquid . Both guilds choose to do X amount of splits before entering. Liquid starts their splits earlier but the entering mythic is totally different every time.

Any team that goes dark should be disqualified, period. We all know how shifty weakauras and add-ons can be, and testing private ones off stream just screams cheating or abusing bugs to beat phases.

Not because of cheating, but just for ruining the viewer experience. If a headstart isnt enough for you to win, you are not good enough. Last boss is almost always the most mechanical, most harshly tuned and most execution fight. If you are in front most of the race and then lose there it is because you are a worse team.

The amount of shifty game breaking stuff you find while messing around with the API that is borderline bannable is hilarious, and all of it is hidden once the testing phase is over and the add-on just shows alerts/markers on the UI.
