Aerodynamics are truly an amazing thing. I mean, how is it possible that that little deflector can decrease helmet buffeting by that much? But I have no reason to doubt you because I have experienced similar effects from things that have completely surprised me. Blows my mind man!

Hi Tim! Nice review! Where did you buy the talk bag? Which brand is it? Tks!
@TimKreitzAdventures7 жыл бұрын
It's a Joe Rocket Manta. I bought it around 2002. I don't think they make them anymore (it was pre-smartphone-era and has a pocket for a Nokia 8210 on top), but you might be able to find one used if you search around eBay, etc. Still very useful despite its age.

That exhaust is sic!! I bought a windscreen for my FZ07 and didn't like it at all, the helmet buffeting was horrible,it just redirected ALL wind to my head, LOL... I have been thinking about getting the flyscreen just for the looks of it, but if it helps head buffeting, then yeah thats a no brainer for $25, thanks for the review... SUB'ed

Hey Tim! have you checked out the other windscreens on ebay, I got the knock off puig screen. It works if you tuck down, but that's about it lol I wanted to ask you a few things about the bike since I know you're one of the few knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy guys online. I have a 2016 fz07 and it's my first bike, it sounds like I have a rattle coming from front, sounds like a loose chain. I've read a lot about others having the same sound, does yours, is this normal? I'm taking it in on Wednesday (2 days) to get it checked out but I have a feeling they're going to say it's nothing and make me pay an hour labor. What do you think?
@TimKreitzAdventures8 жыл бұрын
I wish I could be of help, but I haven't experienced that problem -- and I hope I never do. LOL. If you would, please keep me posted on what it is after you find out. I'd appreciate any info. Cheers!
@PatrickM8318 жыл бұрын
I'll definitely keep you updated. It's strange that it seems to be such a common thing, but I've heard dealers reluctant to do anything about it or put it off as normal. the fz 09s had similar issues in past years and even had a recall, so I hope it's something they fix.
@TimKreitzAdventures8 жыл бұрын
It seems to me like the cam chain tensioner refusing to self-adjust. I broke my bike in super hard, so hopefully my tensioner adjusted quickly and completely. Good luck figuring it out.
@PatrickM8318 жыл бұрын
Ya, I actually just watched tat video lol. Wishing I had known that before.. think that's something they'll fix under warranty since it's supposed to automatically set the tension? Just curious on your opinion, thanks again.

@gbscavenger35588 жыл бұрын
Is it to keep wind off you?

Mainly it was to keep objects from hitting the instrument cluster, but it actually smooths the airflow pretty nicely.

Seems like a well spent $25.As for it being Chinese made,give me a competitively priced quality American alternative and I will buy it but sometimes it just isnt there.
@TimKreitzAdventures8 жыл бұрын
Exactly. That's the rub for sure.
@Rookzer8 жыл бұрын
It doesn't look bad either. Forgive me for not knowing, but do you mean when your helmet is all shaky and feels like the wind is trying to take it off when you say "Helmet Buffeting"? Not sure if I spelled it right.
@TimKreitzAdventures8 жыл бұрын
Yes. Before, I would get some turbulence off the front of the bike that would cause my helmet to oscillate sometimes. The flyscreen apparently smoothed out that airflow.
@Rookzer8 жыл бұрын
I ran into that on Dodge's SuperDuke.
@cmmoto8 жыл бұрын

Another great video! That exhaust looks like it's got some good welds to boot! It's too bad that we can buy something made of gauge steel that's been bought, cut, drilled, bent, cleaned up, powder coated, packaged and shipped from China for cheaper than we could go to a local fabricator who already has a piece of scrap to work with and doesn't have to cross an ocean that takes up an entire hemisphere! I'm not thinking that something's wrong with China as much as that something's wrong at home... (Don't get me wrong, there's plenty wrong in China)
