Thanks Frank. We are planning for summer of 2020. July 27 to be exact. Western side only from Port aux Basques to Gambo and back. Hope to see you on the trails. RD

We may run into each other because we cross July 31 and are only doing the western side as well. Maybe we’ll cross paths along the way.

@@FrankZinck Right on Frank, west coast has lots to offer, if all goes well we will be under the B for Atlantic Bubble soon. On our first west coast trip several years ago, due to the Argentia boat going out of service, we drove as far east as Badger and return to PAB , with a side trip to Buchans.

We are going as far east as the Gaff Topsail and staying Howley. We are going to ATV for a week and then rent a car and spend three days in Gros Morne Park hiking and touring around. I have done it several times but I never tire of it.

Frank here is a You Tube video of the area on the other side of Grand Lake, they leave from Howley and travel woods roads down the side of Grand Lake, looks great,, haven;t done this exact trail but we have traveled cross country down past Hines Lake to Buchans and returned by Millertown Junction

Thanks for the info. Have you figured out how much you spend starting with the ferry ride over until you get back to the mainland?

My wife and I on one quad for ten days including ferry, gas, booze, hotels and meals was about $2200. The damn boat was nearly $900 because we also got cabins.

Love to do this trip, watching videos all the time, what time of the year is good to go

The driest time of year is late July to mid August. But terribly dusty and hot. Some go late August to mid Sept so it’s cooler nights and moist air which keeps the dust down but more chance of hard rain.... or even hurricanes coming up the eastern seaboard if too late on Sept. Always a gamble. We always do early August and deal with the dust.
