Dirceu José Guimarães, known as Dirceu, born 15 June 1952 in Curitiba (Brazil). He died at only 43 years old (1995) in a road accident. 134 games and 20 goals in Serie A, playing as midfielder with Verona, Napoli, Ascoli, Como and Avellino, from 1982 to 1987. He was famous for his powerful left foot and his dangerous free kicks.
With Brazil he scored 7 goals in 44 international games (from 1973 to 1986), taking part to 3 consecutive FIFA World Cups (1974, 1978, 1982), finishing 4th in 1974 and 3rd in 1978.
