I genuinely never had so much hate in my heart for a character that doesn’t even exist, then it got worse when LUFFY CHALLENGED HIM OVER AND OVER FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER! I love this arc so much. I love how it gives each Strawhat a little time in the sun and we get to see them reaffirm their dream and the reason they’re on this journey. It perfectly sets up future conflicts with the marines as well as foreshadowing Water 7. And by god do Usopp and Zoro always make the BEST comedy team when they’re together.

When I watched this I didn't even know it's a filler arc because they just happened to land on G-8 after being on Skypiea. But the shenanigans they did are so hillarious it has its special place between this arc and Water 7. Plus, Usopp being the one to use the Impact Dial at the end makes it even more apparent as we would not expect that he'd use it against his own crew, and foreshadows the Thousand Sunny's Coup de Burst in the far future.
