G-dragon has always been experimental and pushes the boundaries whether it be in music or fashion. He helped lay the foundation of what kpop is today and he has influenced many many other kpop groups throughout his career. He is your favs idol idol. It is not an understatement to say that he is a living legend in the kpop scene. He is a musical genius and has a large range of amazing hits under his belt. His lyrics are clever and witty as he uses a lot of Korean play on words in his songs which you may not get but a lot of Korean knows that he makes amazing lyrics.

yeah it might not be your cup of tea due to the time it came out. during earlier 2010s, techno, EDM and house were everywhere in kpop. the techno/dubstep you said you liked is more later 2010s kpop (check out dirty vibes by GD). What's cool about Big Bang and GD is that they kept such a strong pulse on what was up and coming in the music world that they would be one of the first kpop acts to introduce each music genre into kpop. Like around this time, you started hearing sounds like this everywhere in kpop.

Guys, look into his background - signed at age 12 with Taeyang (another epic performer also from Big Bang) and wrote one song a day to craft his trade. Not afraid to be different and stand out, speak up and use his voice, and stick to his own lane regardless of anything thrown at him. I was fortunate to catch Big Bang in concert twice - I still relive those memories to today. AMAZING performers and were inspirations and icons to current idols.

If you look back to the iconic songs, you have to understand the time period itself. GD and the group itself BIGBANG were the "rebellious" and "unique" artists who are breaking the typical Kpop stereotypes. The impact was so huge to what is Kpop is today. FYI, GD was the first artist that luxury brands collaborated with and was gifted one of a kind pieces.
