Love your reaction! Yeah, another love song but that sad side of love, just so you know, he doesn't have happy songs. This collab was really important for Jennie(it was very different from Rose's case, we knew Jennie, he introduced her). You have to be really good for GD to even notice you. In Black YG recommended Jennie for the part but GD said it himself that when he made the demo for black, he knew that he wanted other artists, Park Bom and Sky for the Korean and English version but when he passed the trainee room and he heard Jennie training non-stop he wanted her to be featured on the album hence he made a Japanese version for Bom and gave Jennie the Korean version. She even sang this song live on stage with him, that is huge for a trainer, he actually taught Jennie how to look at a camera. Jennie had fans before her debut, she attracted some attention with her collabs. There were some bad reactions too(GD has many crazy fans), I remember that he posted a picture with her in that period and he actually deleted the negative comments, that was so nice of him. He was her mentor in her training days too, they become close in real life.

originally, jennie auditioned to be a vocalist. she passed the audition but yge wanted her to be a rapper since she is fluent in english. as someone who doesn't know anything about rap, she was focused more on learning it and its culture. she doesn't really have a proper vocal training because she mainly focused on rap training. she trained for 6 years. GD called her as the ace for being able to rap, sing, and dance. Fast forward, when yge was about to debut blackpink, jennie was chosen as the main rapper after being trained religiously in rap in the official line up. she also became one of the lead vocalists, along with jisoo.

Out of four I can say Jennie raps the best. That's why. And she said at that time of training, she's more fluent in English than Lisa (because of the english raps) that's why they gave her that main rapper and Lisa is the lead. I know you know this by this time, I'm just saying. And to be honest when I first like Blackpink and started listening to their songs, I was like, "hmm, Lisa raps the most but Jennie's the main?" A quote from Jennie: When I first came to YG, I think I was the only one who could speak English. You also need to listen to the Japanese version of 'Black' where gdragon features Park Bom (2NE1). My opinion his delivery slightly emotional. Both versions of 'Black' are great. Gdragon likes to put Bom on his tracks. You should also check out 'Oh Yeah'. Big Bang did a lot of performances with 2NE1 in the live concerts. Also gdragon sneaks a scene on 'Clap your hands - street version of 2NE1 music video'. Of course gdragon would support all YG performers. I wouldn't be surprised with a BP collab.
