広島市出身。10歳で欧州でコンチェルトデビュー。17歳でパガニーニ国際コンクール第3位。桐朋女子高等学校音楽科を首席卒業後、同大学ソリスト・ディプロマ特待生を経て渡仏。パリ国立高等音楽院修士課程を首席卒業後、最高課程を修了、ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム音楽大学修士課程を修了する。
パリと日本を拠点に、フランス、イタリア、スペイン、アメリカ、日本など各国でコンチェルトや室内楽の公演を行い、音楽祭に招待されるなど、精力的に演奏活動を行っている。
2018年にCD「パリのヴァイオリン・ソナタ集」をリリース。
使用楽器は1710年製ジュゼッペ・グァルネリ(フィリウス・アンドレア)。

A kinda modern take on a baroque piece. Many anachronic bowings in my opinion, but still it sounded great and that is to be commanded. Great job!

Good playing, but the tempos are far too fast. I have played this sonata many times in concert, and when it is played this fast much of the counterpoint and melodic development is lost. It would also have been much more enjoyable if a harpsichord had been used, as Haendel intended.

An intelligent and accomplished modern performance. Congratulations to Rika Masato. The soprano voice of the violin was evident, Ms Masato was 1. telling a story, 2. fighting a battle, 3.
