The normal Vandana is *Namo Tassa Bhagavato arahato Samma Sambuddhassa* which is according to Theravada as Arahata is ideal in Theravada but in Mahayana the ideal is Bodhisattva not Arahant. So, is there any separate Buddha Vandana and that too in Sanskrit??

Good Question! It shows that you're a well versed Buddhist scholar. In fact, the most ideal enlightenment stage in Mahayana is not Bodhisattvahood, but instead, Buddhahood. Therefore, as in the Pali chanting as well, there is a title of Samma Sambuddhassa. That's the ideal enlightenment stage. However, according to the Mahayana's teaching, Arahant is a 'must' (pass-by toll) in order to attain the final liberation of Buddhahood. The 1st Sanskrit sentence in this Dharani, i.e. "Namo ratnatrayaya" has already been the Vandanam to Buddha. "Namo" - Paying homage, "ratna-traya" - Triple Gem (Buddha, Dharma & Sangha), "aya" - singular, Dative noun, means "to". The whole of the 1st phrase means, paying homage to Buddha, Dharma & Sangha. Whereas, "Namo Tassa ... Sambuddhassa." is only Vandana to Buddha alone.

As you told about *Namo Ratna Trayaya* which is a Triratna Vandana. Yes I agree. There is also a separate Triple Jewel Vandana which is popular in Vajrayana as well as which is: नमो बुद्धाय गुरवे नमो धर्माय तायिने । नमः संघाय महते त्रिभ्यो ऽपि सततं नमः ॥ *namo buddhāya gurave namo dharmāya tāyine I namaḥ samghāya mahate tribhyo 'pi satatam namaḥ* I bow to the Buddha, the Teacher; I bow to the Dharma, the Protector; I bow to the Sangha, the Great One; to all three, I always bow.

What is Shurangama mantra based on? I mean the purpose? As I have heard it called King of mantras.

Shurangama means 'All phenomena of the universe are in absolute solid state' (一切事究竟坚固). It is the King of all samadhis. The purpose of it is to condition the chanter's mind so that the chanter's chaotic/ conditioned mind will be closer to the unconditioned mind/ nirvana mind state, which is the pre-requisite for actual Samatha & Vipassana practices to get final liberation!

Oh there are many research papers out there in Chinese & Japanese. You can take time to read through them. There a few well known translators documented in the authentic evidences such as the Fangshan Stone Sutra, Qinglongsi monument, Amoghavajra's list of translation to the Tang imperial court, the Japanese Tripitaka, the Ming dynasty's bell crafted mantra kept in Taipei museum, etc. The close-to-the-oldest version is the one we posted in our KZbin channel.

​@@rtam7097 I believe that the Ideal for Mahayana is Buddhahood, for all sentient beings. To finally achieve the Buddhahood, one must decide to take on the path of Boddhisattva. The nearest equivalent to "Namo tassa baghavato arahato sammasambuddhasa" in Sanskrit could be "Namo bhāgavate « Name of Buddha » tathāgataya arhate samyak sambuddhāya ". 🙏
