Interesting review. I don't really know, looking at the ingredients why they would taste differently. Maybe it is the vinegar.

I don't think you can remove the sugar from tomatoes--which means the g hughes must be watered down with so much other stuff that the amount of tomato you're consuming won't even come out to 1g, so it's more vinegar sauce than it is ketchup

I agree! The g. Hughes is gross! It leaves a tacky residue after taste. I think the cornstarch thickening agent does no justice for that product.

I actually watched this video beforehand and decided to buy both. I actually preferred the G Hughes ketchup. I thought the Heinz brand was terrible!!! Just my two cents.

I tried G Hughes but it is too darn sweet for me. I thought there was no sugar in it but it has sucralose which is an artificial sweetener & not a healthy ingredient. I bought Heinz low sugar ketchup but it also was too sweet for me. Guess I'll have to make my own ketchup if that's possible.

i just bought a bottle of heinz no sugar added and it has stevia instead of sucralose. i never tried the old sucralose one.

I've never tried the "No sugar added" Heinz Ketchup but always wanted to... what sucks is that I can't get it in Denmark.. and I don't really feel like buying a whole bottle xD when I have to leave in a months time... I don't eat everything with ketchup :p so I'll have a hard time getting through it but I was surprised to see the Hughes one had a very vinegary flavor but there might be a different in the "No sugar added" and "Sugar Free".. I did check and weirdly enough they both contain Sucralose.... it may be down to the spices and the vinegar they use which makes them taste different.

Heinz was originally made with sucralose but now has stevia leaf extract. Not sure when they changed but I'm pretty sure it was after your video. Dont know about the same hughes but their BBQ sauce I tried had sucralose in it. I didn't like it but then again I was looking for something les sweet and was hoping a sugar free version would give me that. It didn't it just st changed the source of the sweetness.

Award winning BBQ competition sauce vs the original replacement for fish sauce. Hughes is a midwestern KC vinegar based sauce. Kentucky is more about sweetness. Although its a cute project for the family to do its a crappy review about something they know nothing about except personal preference. If you like kick then you will like Hughes. If you like sweetness in everything you eat then you will like Heinz. I personally like Malt Vinegar with old bay on my fries.

I think the names are just marketing. The G Hughes can't be sugar free; it has tomatoes. The ingredients are virtually the same, expect Heinz has stevia and G Hughes has sucralose,,, wonder if that enhances the vinegar? I personally prefer sucralose and like G Huges, but have never tried Heinz. Maybe I should!

The heinz being 10 calories and 1 gram of sugar , added sucralose (artifical sweetner) for sweetness. Since I don't use artifical sweeter products I am glad at least regular ketchup is much difference with only 20 calories and 4 grams.
