The JvC, Spy Troops, VvsV and DTC new sculpt era was a good run. Great toys all in all. You can tell by the end how some of the design choices in construction (ball socket for the head, pinless joints for the shoulders and elbows) had begun that lead into the 25th and beyond.

You might not believe this, but I have 40 of those taller BATS and another 30 of the ones that look like crickets. I was buying lots of them off of Ebay, chasing them down at dollar stores, buying multiples of the six packs. Between just those two molds, I can fill up two gallon zip lock bags with them. It's nuts. When other guys got out of collecting toys, I kept on truckin.' Been a Joe fan since '82 and never stopped collecting. They're a lifelong passion.

this line is fascinating for me, as most of them I never saw. while most of them are sub standard, there seems to be a few gems. I like the bats, and maximus is a good concept. but the sculpts... heu, they re all over. wild bill seems to have picked up a gym addiction with steroids. many cobras have no logos, and so on. the vehicles look cheap and brittle, except the hummer which looks good. and also maybe the motorcycles. I look forward for some in depth review though. good show!

I sold all my Valor vs. Venom figures, Joe vs. Cobra, Spy Troops & DTS too. After the 25th debuted, the construction of those figures were too dated. Although, some of the designs are pretty cool. I only discovered how awesome the vehicles in this line were after researching what I missed, when after acquiring some of the modern ones like the Sky-Striker & Crimson HISS tank. I have all of the ones you showcased, except the Humvee & the Mech. I prefer the designs of the VAMP MK2 & the Mech from POC. I love the design of that Sting Raider sub. It's a great compliment to the Hammer-Head. I do enjoy the features of that Thunder-Wing too. Although, it does seem a little stubby in appearance, it's still great, but a bit hefty. I have a couple of incomplete & junky Night Adder's. I'd love one in working condition. Will need to bite the bullet & find the best price & throw down for a working one.

I remember watching the trailer for Valor vs. Venom in that TF: Energon DVD I use to have once, that movie and the Sigma 6 tv show I use to watch on 4Kids when I was a kid in the 2000's are my favorite guilty pleasures I enjoyed and had fond memories of, they even got me into the G.I. Joe franchise in the first place just like how as also a Transformers fan that the Unicron Trilogy and the flawed 2007 movie which I also find as my favorite guilty pleasure are what also got me into Transformers in the first place, I'm really gonna miss them lol. Although truth is I didn't get into the original series or the comics back in the 80's much because what turned me away from them in my honest opinion was the hardcore elitism on the internet that didn't enjoy those favorite guilty pleasures of mine as I did much, no offense by the way.

Daniel Duke (v16) was released as part of the twentieth series (2004), carded in a two-pack with Venomous Maximus as part of the Valor vs Venom line. Duke (v16) was released again later that year, carded in a two-pack with Cobra Commander (v19). Hope this helps!!😁😁

I know I am in the minority, here, but the willingness to push the envelope on the designs of classic characters without losing the critical individual signifiers is what I wish Hasbro would have done with Classified. I love the classic designs being brought into the 6-inch scale, but I'd prefer it if that were a sub-line, with a little more innovation and change taking place among the mainline figures. As with V vs V or POC...or hell, even with the original ARAH run, where designs were constantly updated and changed. Feels truer to the spirit of the brand. But, the loudest fan voices prevailed here, and while it is probably better for short term sales, I think it limits the dynamism of the brand. I thought the first Classified wave was flawed but still compelling, and the repainted versions of those figures were really on-point. I hope they return to that approach at some level in the future, but with the scale of shipping and production delays, I fear the excitement for the line may fizzle before it can really take off. There's a recession coming, and all the spending of the last few years has really propped up the collecting hobby, probably to an unsustainable point. I am concerned about the brand beyond 2024 or so.
@woodman292 жыл бұрын
You are spot on buddy. I’ll join the minority with you. I have been collecting Joe since 82. I even inherited some of my older brothers 12 action figures! I used to be a completist, chasing everything that was put out. That has long since stopped! When the classified series released I didn’t get into the hype. I didn’t run around hunting or stress out about it not wanting my FUN to be STRESS. I preordered some of the ones I liked and passed on the rest. I really do wish they were MORE creative especially with this new scale and release. But nope the immediate cash grab wins again. As for the disgusting price increases on everything Joe. Old and new, your right that bubble is going to burst. I have learned to step back and look at what I’ve amassed over the years and appreciate it so much more now! Thanks for your thoughts and insight buddy!😁😁
@smyers90522 жыл бұрын
@@woodman29 Agreed, but in fairness to them, their creative team tried to go a new direction. While the first wave sold well, fans were loud about wanting everything to be more classic. That caused them to change the direction of the line -- for instance, we never got the Storm Shadow with the metal components on his mask and the Yakuza tattoo. Full disclosure I love Classifieds, but what I really wanted was something more unique. Love the vids man, keep it up. Always appreciate a Joe discussion.
