He wrote and produced the viral song Darari before their company, YG Ent., decided to include it in Treasure's album at the time. It went viral in Asia, and on Tiktok having a trending dance. That song gave Treasure a big break during that era., which I think what pushed yedam to pursue solo music, he took the opportunity since he saw potential.

Fun Fact: Bang Yedam and Lily both started their careers in the same "survival" reality/audition show called Kpop Star. Bang Yedam was the runner up (second place) in Season 2 of that show (the sibling duo AKMU won that season). Lily placed 4th in Season 4 of the show. Both Yedam and Lily were very young when they competed. Kwon Jinah (the girl they showed who sang the Charlie Puth song that Yedam decided to sing) was the third-place winner in Season 3 of the same show. Another famous singer from that show is Lee Hi (and you should really check out her songs). She placed second in Season 1 of Kpop Star. The show Kpop Star had 4 really good seasons that introduced several exceptional talents to the world. It kind of fizzled out in its 5th and final season, when they started experimenting with a different format.

Seo Taiji was the leader of the most popular boy group in the late 1990s. The group name was "Seo Taiji and Boys". it was a three-member group. One of the members was a guy named Yang Hyun Suk. Yang Hyun Suk is the founder and current boss of YG Entertainment (the company that produced Blackpink, Big Bang, 2NE1, AKMU, BabyMonster, etc.).

He got popular in Korea by being the runner-up of Kpopstar 2 at the age of 10, and is known in South Korea as Korea's Justin Bieber and Little Michael Jackson. These days he's also called Korea's national treasure voice and the vocal representative of the MZ generation. He was one of YG's prodigy trainees and was the main vocalist for TREASURE, but he is now a soloist-songwriter-producer. Please check out his solo work! He just released his first self-produced mini album ONLY ONE last November. And I highly recommend watching his Lee Mujin Service solo episode too (Episode 90), in which he talks more about his musical background. Plus his performances are EXTREMELY good! :)
