這部電影包括女主角葛蘭和男主角雷震等，曾來台灣拍不少場景，如松山機場和舊圓山飯店…（模糊印象可能還有碧潭,阿里山…）等等。我那時候才念小學，知道有這部片在台放映，曾嚮往，但可惜沒去看過。後來漸知他們有來台灣拍片。我猜測多少是代表香港自由影藝界對中華民國之擁戴。為台海戰役勝利慶賀，為剛鞏固的台海安全，及台灣建設,風土民情做介紹吧！

In 1959, to be an air hostess means you could travel & see the world & meet classy people. That became a dream job for young women, when most women ( even the rare university educated ones ) were confined at home to be housewives. The movie "Air Hostess" became an instant hit. Not just because of GeLan's unforgettable theme song, but because it was inspiring for a new generation of young women who saw that real world employment could be interesting & rewarding before marriage. So this movie & its theme song "I want to fly into the blue sky" became a quiet symbol of social change for young women's destiny. Before this first big wind of social change, most women would get married after high school. The only respectable jobs for women were teachers & nurses, many of whom remained single throughout their lives due to relentless job demands & social expectations. They had to choose between marriage or career. In 1959, I was only in Grade 3, primary school. But I had a vivid memory of seeing the movie with my aunt, & I loved the song. Then I was determined that I would go to university when I grow up. Later on, I completed 3 university degrees. Since then, i have enjoyed a wonderful career ( with all the challenges) as an educator. Let me thank GeLan's movie for showing me an alternative choice for young women. It served as an unspoken support for me to pursue my career goals & lead a more interesting life.

葛蘭福壽雙全。 她應該已有90高齡了，據說仍有魄力間中於與友人聚會的場合，唱一再首名曲娛賓。 身段仍然纖濃合度。 但是她的妯娌尤敏却已於九十年代 （當時只是六十之年）便已離世了。 這應該與葛蘭姨的樂天開懷有關吧。 所以，凡事都要處之泰然才能得享快樂的天年。
