Yea, I have an 8 ounce tin of this stuff. I haven't opened it yet and it has a few years on it. But, I have so much crap open now so I won't open it. And in recent years, I've become a burley lover. I always enjoy it when I see someone react so well to a blend. I'm glad you like it, brother.

Bradley, I started with the Murray's version of London Mixture in the mid-80s, and it quickly became my go-to English, after Sobranie White became thin and wet. The Orlik version was not good, to my taste buds. I smoked Westminster years ago and really liked it. It did remind me of the Murray's version of London Mixture. Need to get me some more!

I first tried Westminster about a year ago. I liked it, but not as much as other English/Balkan blends. So I put it away. It's now coming up to a year in the cellar and following this video, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the time has done to this blend.

If you like the Westminster, you should definitely try their Abingdon. I still feel it's slightly more favorable than the former, though both are great. Still waiting to crack open my tin of their Odyssey. That's supposed to be a doozy.

Bradley, I had previously recommended that you try GL Pease "Caravan," a light Balkan blend, with added air-cured leaf. Today, I'm suggesting that you check out Pease's "Ashbury," which is an homage to Sullivan & Powell's "Gentleman's Mixture," as "Westminster" was a nod to Dunhill's "London Mixture." I can't say it reminds me of Gentleman's Mixture, but it's been 45 years since I smoked it. However, Ashbury is a singularly delightful light Balkan blend. I can't accurately describe it, but it will hold your attention. You must grow weary of folks recommending blends for you to try, nevertheless....

Hello! Not about video but as advise. I was looking for Elyzabethan replacement and was very surprised that closest imitation happened to be Peterson Irish Oak. Despite that I don’t smoke Peterson tobacco. We have to hurry, BAT will stop production prior of current month.

When I worked for Tinderbox they had a starter pack with one ounce tins of tobacco and one of them was London mixture. As I recall it was very full bodied but all of them were horribly dry. So I don't know if the comparison to Westminster holds up.

Have you ever had Russ Ouellette's RO Series Acadian Gold? Long story short, it's a 100% Virginia that's processed like a perique . Unsurprisingly, it's much like a va-per but very, very malty. The tin note is especially so. I know you're not much of a beer drinker (I'm not an anything alcoholic drinker anymore) but think of the nose of a really rich barleywine....like the residue in the glass after it has condensed.

Do you know how long it took me to figure out the "disk of ash" thing?? A while! I was smoking mostly early morning in the dark. I was focusing so much on proper packing and tamping that I wasn't paying attention to even lighting across the surface. I actually got packing down pretty quick. But once I got the even lighting down, flavors really began to pop! If you have only a small portion of the surface lit, the flavor gets really diluted with excess air. Smokes too thin.

If you really like Westminster, you’ll be entranced by Kensington. That’s been my experience anyhow.
