I worked in graphite composites for 20 years at Boeing. I understood their process and can appreciate the level of quality of their manufacturing they have.

Temple Fork Outfitters if you want what Gary Loomis has been working up lately. These Loomis rods are Sooo Expensive they are just out of reach to the anglers such as myself. I have had a couple and they were great, but I always worried more than I preferred about theft, and such, but that goes for everthing.

TW should do one at the Dobyns store. Thumbs up if you agree.

Look as though they changed since the last time I looked at them. I remember there being reports of the time Gary put into traveling to factories in China to make sure his stringent ideals were met. That might've been the original Dobyns Rods that had massive amounts of problems.
@s4il11 жыл бұрын
John Edwards Yes i believe that was the case, another interesting piece of information, Keith Bryan and the Gary Dobyns were at one time partners, Keith Bryan Being the Owner of Powell rods, Gary helped launch Powell MAX rod line up to the bass industry back in 2005 ICAST. I've heard from many Powell and Dobyns are alike in many ways, i guess it comes down to how much are you wanting to spend both rod mfg. have an amazing line up of rods, i went with Dobyns cause i fished with a Pro staff member who introduced me to the Champions series.

Those were the good old days. Now? Well the Japanese make a great blank. The workmanship (corks, guide alignment) on eg the NRX LP leaves much to be desired. Standards have dropped :(

Rod warranty is a freaking joke! I sent my $200 rod because it broke the first time fighting a fish! Then GLoomis called me saying the boxed with the returned rod was empty (Blaming USPS, really? that I needed to file a claim with them) Either you are BS-ing or the package was stolen at your facility and GLoomis is blaming USPS with a get out of jail free card! Anyways, don't buy Gloomis or your rod's warranty will be useless when it breaks!

Loomis rods are OK at best. Old technology and overpriced rods left in the dust by the Japanese companies like Graphiteleader, Evergreen, etc...
