So if I start the bow stroke from the muscle in the shoulder blade and slowly add the middle and ring finger to the bow i can practice getting the proper feel of my finger tips on the bow hold to prevent my bow from bouncing when I perform the bow stroke. I think the upward pressure and angle of my thumb are creating an unwanted spiccato during a detache stroke. My thumb needs to lessen its pressure on the bow to remedy the bow bounce problem? Thank you for patiently illustrating how to work on this common problem.
