Even though I can't understand anything you said, It's notable you have many skills in trigonometry and linear algebra due to how well you can explain how the code you're making works. Can't wait to see this video with subtitles one day! :)

It is easy, he basically show you the formulas and draw the graphical representation of how it works. In short, this is ray-casting tecnique, use a ray on determinate angle and in base to distance of intersection calculate the height of wall.
