Just found this video now, and it pretty much sums up what my theory has been from the beginning. You make allusions to a previous video which I haven’t watched, so you might have talked about this already, but one interesting thing about Q is in his SF3 ending. The FBI/CIA/whatever agents are baffled that one man could be connected to 13 murders that happened all over the world in just 10 days. One even suggests that there are multiple suspects, all of whom simply have a similar fashion sense. The other agents quickly shrug off the idea, but I always thought that actually made a lot of sense, and it fits perfectly not only with your idea of g being sorta like a cult leader, but also that artwork of the similarly dressed individuals. The question is what does G have to gain from killing all those people. Regardless, I think it’s safe to say G is DEFINITELY a bad guy, even if he doesn’t see himself that way.

Some people have theories that he's a former, excommunicated, radical member of the Illuminati that faked his death. If we go with that theory he may be eliminating former members and their allies. Speaking of allies, what if the people he's killing are responsible or know of how he was made. SF has lots of weird powers, but their tied to ki and or enhanced by science. G's powers are radically unnatural, but match the "treasures of the illuminati" that make them look divine, like Gill's Seraphim wing and resurrection, or Urien's metallic abilities. So while his abilities appear magical, if he is from the same group, G could be killing those who know how his inherited or stolen treasures work. Lots of room to speculate though, and that's what I find fun hah.

ShockyD oh. So, yeah, you HAVE already talked about this. The idea of him having some affiliation with the Illuminati is very interesting, especially after you play Gill’s story in SFV. First G recognizes Gill, referring to him as “the ancient earthling.” Gill also recognizes G’s power, though he doesn’t remember where he’s felt it... this whole thing is really strange! I can’t wait for street fighter 6. I really hope we get some answers!

Indeed, good point and thanks for posting! I'm so sad that their interaction was so short. Lots to unpack from Gill's storymode: -Gill, depending on when the story mode section takes place is in his mid to late 20s to due to how the Illuminati selection process goes down. (Selection process starts early, I thiiink from birth, ends at 22 and then those who show most potential are made President and Emperor and rule lasts until the age of 46). So he couldn't be ancient as he's not immortal. Though, this shows that despite Gill not recognizing G or him not fitting into the prophesy that rules almost all he does, G does seem familiar with him. Does this mean he's clashed with the Illuminati before or someone with Gill's power? Gill is NOT magic, he and Urien and Kolin have "Treasures" from the Illuminati, they're given great power that resembles magic, but it is not in reality. -Gill is bewildered and annoyed by G, but later, after some thinking he recognizes his power from somewhere. Does this mean that he may have been a past President, thought dead or lost to history and he went crazy or radically changed his identity after faking his death? -G has grown in such popularity since his story mode, that Gill and Kolin see his "Let's Fight!" show as a worthy way to unveil himself to the world. Not appearing in front of the U.N. or landing at the White House. I really hope we see more of G and get more to chew on for this mystery!

Definitely a possibility. I mean at the end of the day, martial arts can let a guy transcend humanity by way of psychic powers (Bison) and Gill through Illumianti techniques fakes magic and miracles, so it is definitely possible. I'd love to see more of what G's true aims are.

The most likely explanation is that G leads a secret organisation who all wear the same. Q’s character explanation in 30th anniversary is that he shows up at random places at random times and is seen at crime scenes across the world almost simultaneously , so what if they weren’t one person? The developer art of the woman in Gs story costume makes it more likely

Definitely agree, that's an idea that someone posted a bit ago and when I read it, it's been in my head for a long time. I think there's a definite organization that G's the leader of and that this President gimmick is only the newest face he's showing to the public. I can't wait to see where this character goes. I think G is Q and he was messed up after something with Gill and he uses his earth powers to travel it. If he has "the powe of the Earth", and the gold around his body is a world map, wouldnt it make sense that he could somehow use the power to travel around the world. He also said he knows all the martial arts in the world, and if thats true that would have cost alot of money and time to travel by plane so much.

Another thing to note is that Q, when electrocuted in SF3s, unlike other characters, has no skeleton. He is only raw muscle and a metal helmet. Perhaps, Q is G's "Magnum Opus" (like how the Illuminati made Twelve, a boneless shapeshifter)? A synthetic creation designed to carry out G's will as some kind of right hand man? It would make sense as Q's eyes are GOLDEN as well...possibly Q is overflowing with G's energy (although he can't cast it since he has limitations). Q's clothes and how covered up he is compared to G could attribute to the fact that, perhaps, Q has flowing golden skin much like his (supposed) creator. Of course, this would be something to hide as it would reveal where Q comes from...also, isn't it odd that both G and Q can show up all around the world whenever they want? Perhaps Q inherited this mysterious teleportation skill as well... Edit: I just remembered Q's third Super Art is some kind of explosion where he begins to glow an orange-gold hue. Maybe this is his only means of channeling G's supposed energy...?

Hi there, thanks for stopping by and leaving some theories! I briefly talked about my unproven theory of Q's electrocution sprite here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hme1ZaeBZaZsi6s). To sum up, I think that the sprite isn't saying that Q lacks a skeleton but you can't get past the muscle layer because it's so dense due to his durability and super strength. If you look closely, the muscle layer doesn't get transparent for any of the frames, it's like once you shock him, you only get as deep as the muscle layer and that's it, and also, they didn't even show past his mask. In Darkstalkers even the characters like Pyron & Hutzil show what's underneath, but with Q in addition to keeping the mystery they're hiding what else is there. 12 is an interesting case, it seems he actually has a skeleton. Like Q, when shocked we see his body mass and not much more underneath it. Q has muscles & veins, but 12 has strange, random lines on his undefined body mass that look like squiggles. When 12 dies from a chip k.o. he gets emaciated and shrinks down to what looks like very thin skin covering his skeleton. You can look at his chip ko sprites here (www.justnopoint.com/zweifuss/twelve/twelve.htm) At the end, this is only my guess based on what I've run into, your explanation of him being a synthetic being could be possible given the world of SF. I do agree that it's likely that Q is G's Magnum Opus or even was intended to be, but is now some sort of failed/ rejected son of sorts. At first I didn't think about it, but yeah, I agree, he could be infused with G's energy. Good point on Q's eyes, the yellow may not part of the mask it seems. He may have clear lenses, but the intensity of the light changes in some animations due to stress & his chip ko has them dim as he goes unconscious. Excellent point on his total destruction SA! That would explain the move, at first I thought it might be cyborg/tech related. If you look closely at the sprite, he's in a TON of pain when he does the initial move. He actually clutches his chest so hard, you can see a few frames of him TEARING his coat. The "Danger" voice may be coming from his mask as some onboard monitoring system. Interesting point about the skin, though Q seems to have brown skin in the sprites and Caucasian skin in some (but not all) of the official art. It's even part of why I thought Q may be David Spender in my old video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hme1ZaeBZaZsi6s). Capcom could always in the future retcon it that Q has gold skin, so not sure. You just made me think of another thing though, I wonder if Q has the shifting golden tattoos also! Since, like you said, he's a lot more covered up than G, I'm wondering if there's any unusual markings, scars, or anything on his face and skin! @@eagleye2893 Hi there, thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts. Cammy and Decapre are a good point, though, there's a few things that don't have me fully convinced that G is actually Q. I think there's enough ambiguoty to cast some doubt. I've mentioned this in some of the other replies, but unless the Shadaloo CRI reports on the Capcom site aren't canon, they mention in Q's profile that he's currently being investigated by Crimson Viper. David Spender and Juliana Leigh (though some translations say more accurately, she should be Gillian), the CIA agents from Q's end, have a boss named Wayne Nakamura. His CRI profile implies that Q has been around for a while - it mentions he was seen in an American port, so that old rumour of Q being in Ken's stage maybe retroactively canonized now. (game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/132370) While I think that G may have some connection to the Illuminati (possibly as a former president or just a heretic that got excommunicated or survived an assassination attempt), I don't think Gill or Urien create Q. In the Japanese version of 3rd strike, there's a mountain of quotes that never got translated and inserted into western copies of the game. Gill's win quote vs Q basically states: 全能の私にも解らぬとは････ 何者だ君は？ “Even I, in all my omnipotence, can’t understand… Who are you?” Also, in SFV, even though Gill wipes the floor with G, it takes quite a while before he recognizes something familiar about his power. Whatever connection there is between G and the organization, he's either changed a whole bunch, or if he previously had powers, they were not as blatant as we currently see. I've believed for a while now that G changes his appearance whenever he needs a new gimmick. His President of the world gimmick appears very new as no one knows about him when his story starts and he has very low FooTube engagement, but steadily he becomes popular enough for Gill to unveil his hidden existence on the airwaves. With G's alternate "story" costume, he has a simple version of Q's mask, but dresses in much fancier clothes - the Jacket, tie, and slacks all look stylish compared to Q's basic look. I get the feeling that G makes his followers and / or victims dress like Q. Developer notes actually show Q is locked into his mask with a keyhole on the side, while G's version is a mask held on with a strap that looks easily removable. Overall, I'm not sure where Capcom's going with G & Q, that old win quote stuff I mentioned could be forgotten or retconed out. We need to look to whatever story content is left for season V and future games. SF3, if nothing changes, is supposed to take place months to less than a year from the events of SFV. Q's old story material paints it that "The Trench Coat Man", his official title as the CIA investigates him, has been around for a long time. At least long enough to start tons of urban legends. There's so many sightings that the CIA gets tired of the public asking if he's real, so they use their PR spokesman Richard Burgman, to put out a "we can't confirm or deny his existence" statement. For all we know, the similarities between G & Q could be just like the ties between Cammy and Decapre. They could come from the same place, but Q is a pupped of G forced to fight in a lesser form of his image. Thanks for stopping by and commenting with your theory. @@ShockyD interesting thesis. But you can't deny the similarities between the 2. I can justify Cammy and decapre because they are the same doll type. But what about G and Q? How can you justify half of Q's moveset being used by G? Unless this is another Cammy decapre scenario or even a ryu ken scenario we don't know more on how G and Q is connected than the possibility that Q could be G. I will give credit where it's due though. You gave a good point and some food for thought. But ultimately there is more lacking evidence that seperated the 2 than connecting them. Just the fact G has Q's moves is more than enough. Who knows perhaps the Q model already existed and G became one of the Qs. It doesn't specify *all* Q's fight like Q in 3rd strike. There is a strong possibility that G *is* Q, but not the first Q.

Remember my g and q split personality theory? Well with sf6 your story mode I decided to update my theory as I now believe a possible origin for our mysterious detective and president of the world and what gave them their powers and split personality. The future villain replacing gill being jp (whenever capcom remembers to conclude the Illuminati storyline) after harvesting bison’s psycho energy into his cane (man do I love the weirdness of street fighter lore 😊) experimented with the power to refine and go further than bison did, one of those is experimentation with different elements based-powers like gill and urien had by kidnapping and using them on people, one of those was whoever g and q’s original personality was that we will call just “gq” Gq went through painful and torturous experimentation making his body adapt to the power making the man mind fracture in wanting to be set free and feeling to unite the world to not have any horrible deed like what happened to gq happened to others, and also a vengeful violent side that wants to bring the nasty and vial to justice anyway possible which includes using violent methods like q seen doing. Thus gq’s mind would be split into two personas G and Q representing his hopeful righteous path for peace and his angered violent thirst for justice the two represents. However gq personality is basically gone so don’t expect him to come back expect in flashbacks

I have a theory. For anyone that had seen Neon genesis evangelion, G’s constant reference to everyone becoming ‘one’ is similar to the final plan in that anime. G wants everyone to be one mind almost and will use mind control to carry out his plans as he does with Q. Q is a mind controlled follower of G who is still self aware and fighting back for control of himself, which would make his famous ‘I... am an abomination’ quote make a lot of sense. He regrets what he has become and his decision to join G’s conquest plan.

Q is not human. He and Twelve are the only characters that do not have a skeleton when electrocuted. As for the SF3 series, I cannot speak on 5. SF3 tells what happened REAL life history. To Goki sinking a sub. Happened real life in the 70's where Remy encased his sister in the crystal. A Sub was lost in the 70s in that lake. To Urien's stages. He starts in Egypt and ends in Mexico. There's also a connection of history there.

If you look in the Shadaloo CRI profiles on the Capcom site, Wayne Nakamura (one of the 3 CIA agents in Q's 3rd Strike ending) states they're investigating a man seen in American port, and Viper's profile mentions as of SF5 she's chasing Q. It's been implied that G's been around longer than we thought, but he's only recently doing the President of the World gimmick and using FooTube. There’s just too many connections between them, the name style, the explosions, and the ability to appear seemingly anywhere in the world in no time. Q's been around since SF2 and is being chased by Viper in SF5 according to her own CRI profile. It's not stated when G appears, but it seems like he pops up after Bison's defeat in A Shadow Falls. Gill's story mode shows that G, as he is now is not someone he recognizes, but he feels his power is familiar. G could have been around for a while, fought Gill or something in another disguise in years past, stayed hidden during the rise of Shadaloo and returned now or something else entirely. Hard to say given the details. In all the win quotes against G, no one has an idea of who or what he is (even Bison), but in Rose's story mode, she implies that this current President gimmick is a disguise of sorts. It's not stated when their fight is, but SFV very close (months) away from SF3 and then a year from SF3: 3rd strike. Yup, that has some potentially interesting ideas. I've suspected that G's been around for a long time and his President of the World gimmick is only his latest idea, but now Rose's story possibly validates that since she's thinking of sending her consciousness back in time to before the alpha series to stop him somehow. So if my theory of G making his followers wear Q's mask proves to be true, then it's possible he's been in the background since the series began, or if Q is an escapee, then it may show that he's investigating G's plans and they've been tied to all those murders that Q seems to be investigating over the years. I'm excited to see what's next!

@@ShockyD Rose story is confusing she gonna start all over again from 0 cause the world is going to end cause of G some people think Ingrid might be involve in the story somehow if it's involving going back in time I guess Rose gonna warn her past self to watch out for G even though I don't know what past Rose would possibly do with that information as G comes way later in the future but we just see maybe Rose actually succeeded. People think G is some type of god or alien maybe G kidnap people to follow him or maybe Q diguise itself to look like G to investigate him but that wouldn't make sense but hopefully Street Fighter VI follows the Illuminati story.

I'm not sure how Capcom is going to address this, but they may go about things in a few ways: -Rose may send her consciousness back BEFORE the alpha days and convince herself to stop focusing on Bison or prepare something for the future thus causing a ripple effect. -Rose may not do anything to change the past, but go back and research, possibly using clues of what she learned in her vision to track G before he makes himself public and maybe discover a weakness. A theory I've had is that G has been around for a while but he changes his appearance and gimmick to gain control. So far, I don't exactly believe G is a god or alien, but he may have gained some form of cosmic power somehow or it's another type of ki that we've never seen before. I do agree though, for a while I've thought that G kidnaps or recruits people and his followers are dressed like him. I've been talking with some friends about the Rose story and the things about G, some of us think that this disaster that Rose is seeing is tying to the disaster the Illuminati talkes about in the book of Miraha. I'm actually working on a video discussing this right now, hopefully I can share it soon.

@@ShockyD Yeah this story has to many questions that need to be answered still but we gonna gave to wait until Street Fighter VI if G and Rose will be in VI G is someone like Gill even said he felt G power somewhere before so there's some mystery on what Gill talking about the thing is nobody can sense evil energy or negativity not even Oro sense conflict with G either and he's the oldest character in the franchise but this makes G more mysterious G is the fool meaning he has potential to take over the world and both G and Rose shared a vision of the world ending so is G a savior? The last time Rose called someone a fool was Ryu who had potential to defeat Bison and Ryu did destroy Bison so G taking over the world might come true? This might intertwine with the Illuminati story somehow. But this bring in Q who is under investigation and being hunted down by C. Viper so they already have a storyline for Street Fighter VI but Q is out and about while G is busy live streaming and gloating about taking over the world so it's really hard but G and Q having some type of connection is not a coincidence I hope your video is long and ask questions about this story and you have many theories about it to cause this story is pressuring.

Excellent video. I think G is some sort of subsidiary to Gill, the goals are quite similar between the two. Infact to back this up Kolin represents Ice, G represents what? Fire! while Gill has both. Who would better to be the catalyst to Gill's Utopia than the president of earth himself? As for Q I think the fact that G seemingly has followers or some sort of thing going on with these people in masks and trench coats eventually leads to some odd experiments that results in Q or maybe even many Qs explaining his appearance everywhere in third strike. Maybe even linked to twelve and Necro... To be frank G probably would have made for a better boss than bison in SFV but i think with him being DLC the idea of him being a boss is spoiled.

The way his powers work are the more bizarre, seemingly unnatural ways that the Illuminati specialize in. Definitely could see him being Kolin's counterpart or even, yes being the fire element for Gill, but possibly being a former Illuminati member, seemingly exiled. Gill and Urien at this point are new arrivals in terms of leadership and they tried culling the old guard, so this may be the case! Agree with you on Q. I get the feeling and theorize that he is so bizarre either because he failed as an experiment, or interestingly he's stronger than the controllers, so he's fighting for free will and carving his own path. Though yeah, I definitely agree that could explain his global presence! While I was fine with Bison being the boss to close off the Shadaloo arc, I'm still holding out hope that a second story campaign is in the wings and that G takes his place as an in between boss to get people focusing on him while Gill does his thing for 3. Like boss mode G would be terrifying and fantastic as a challenge. As of SF5, SF3 and SF3 3rd strike are possibly months to under a year away. Gill didn't really make his presence known, so the missing characters in that game may be dealing with G while Gill only deals with those he invited like Alex, Dudley and others. I feel that they've got something big planned for G, so fingers crossed! :)

@@ShockyD Yeah, I hope that the rumored Tournament Edition coming next month includes new story content in it. They've been hyping up G for such a long time (even the recent Honda ending is worth mentioning) that it just can't be for the next game. His SFVI trailer won't have as much of an impact. Do it while the hype is hot. There's an interesting theory regarding Honda's ending: Honda is Hakan's friend, who appeared in G's ending, meaning Hakan has already shaken hands with G and he's "infected" with his powers, so it's fair to assume Honda eventually got infected as well. Honda saving the Earth by destroying a meteor could've been nothing more than a delusion brought on by G's control (he essentially made Honda's dream "come true"), which is possible since the people in the background also look weird - they're spindly shadows with wide mouths.

what if the answer is basically "all of the above"? he's the next villain seems good on the outside, but with possible evil motives (like how an actual president can be) he also may have a cult following similar to Gill's, but more on the Political nature, rather than a Religious nature. the design of his face in the mask costume may also indicate the next "grunt" design, all looking similar to Q. and at the end, once he's defeated, Gill may very well be the one who turns him into the Q we now know of as a punishment for his actions. to conclude, we have not one Q, but several, but G may end up as a Q at the end. EDIT: oh, something else to note, is that at the end of his Arcade mode, he is shown shaking hands with 3 distinct people of a possible "easy-to-manipulate" nature, which are perfect for G.

G is Q. We're just waiting for SF6 to know who was the one that crippled him. I believe G is secretly an agent working for Gill, just like Kolin is working for Gill. Gill controls both Ice and Lava powers. Gill is the one who wants to bring the world together (SF3 endings), G is trying to help him acting as president of the world. Somewhere down the road G gets crippled, probably by Urien and is turned into Q. Not alot of people know this but Q got blonde hair as seen in his SF3 animations. Menat can't see his future because he has none, thanks to whoever it is that's going to take G out. He's called a fool for a reason, he's being played by Gill or alternatively working for Urien who's going to betray him anyway. G and Q are one in the same. Another clue here.....Q is a secret opponent in SF3, guess who's also a secret opponent in the SFV Arcade: G. Edit: someone below mentioned G being a robot. I rather call him a Cyborg. That one is interesting because in G's ending we get a close look to his eye, indicating that he might be a Cyborg. Dhalsim can't sense anything for that very reason, maybe he's not human.

Hi there, thanks for stopping by with your thoughts. There's a few things that conflict though. Gill has shown that he doesn't know either G or Q. In his SFV story mode, he uses his Let's Fight broadcast to get his message out to the world, but tries to see what it is he desires (G doesn't give him an understandable answer). He even notes that his powers feel familiar, but he can't remember from where. Before their fight he says "Mysterious power...not prophesied. Let me evaluate" In the Japanese version of 3rd strike, there were a TON of character specific quotes that were cut out of the English releases. When Gill beats Q he says: 全能の私にも解らぬとは････ 何者だ君は？ “Even I, in all my omnipotence, can’t understand… Who are you?” Also in the Shadaloo CRI reports, if you look at Q's and Wayne Nakamura's entries, they indicate a few things. Q's entry makes it seem as though during the events of SFV, he's being chased down by Crimson Viper and Wayne's makes it seem that some time ago he saw Q in Ken's SF2 stage, seemingly canonizing the popular fan rumour. So Q is already active before being seen in 1997 (SF3 3rd strike's timeline) and if the Ken stage thing is true, then that has him active even earlier. I looked at a few interesting visual details like his skin colour & shock sprite in my previous video "Man of Mystery". About what you said about Menat, she made a mistake and misunderstood Rose. In tarot, the fool isn't like the insult, but rather showing someone with boundless potential at the start of their journey. Ryu was the previous fool in SSF4 Rose's intro since he was destined to kill Bison. I cover the tarot bits in this video at 16:28. G "evolves" to the world by the time Rose meets him in her story. My next video is in the works, but covers the shift in G's designated cards along with him being tied to the apocalypse. There's also the theory a few people have about how Q is seen all over the world. I think that G is the leader and everyone else are underlings. If you look at the picture of the man and woman in this video, you'll see they both are wearing "Q" masks and clothes that are similar to G's alt costume rather than Q's. Q's clothes are plain and his mask is shell-like, rather than the hockey mask everyone else wears. Also, in my next video, I'm covering G's stage. If you look closely, the two camera men in his stage are wearing the hockey-like Q masks. Q seems to be the outlier. I've theorized that he resisted somehow and thus was punished by being locked into a mask and wandering the world while the other "sons of G" chase him. I agree there could be a bit of cyborg stuff going on with G and or Q, but I don't think they're fully mechanical. As of Rose's story I'm not 100% sure he's human anymore, for all I know, he could be possessed by a mystical force, but everything is too ambiguous right now for me to give a solid answer. I feel like he has some sort of mind-reading powers which bother him which is why he randomly lashes out at people while being deeply understanding and caring for others. Frustrating to me that they canonized Q's activity in V, as I really want to believe that something happened to G to make him fall from grace! Perhaps the G and Q who are playable in-game are the same, but there is a fleet of Q's deployed, with a uniform & mask for anonymity? What if the Q we know is the only one locked into his mask? The stark contrast between G's charisma, boisterous personality, and physical dexterity and Q's shortspokenness, inability to be understood, and seeming disregard for his own body (looking at you c. I feel that there's a possibility of other "Q's", but they're more in line with G's SFV costume while Q may have been excommunicated or deemed heretical from their group and is on the run hence why he's locked in the mask & the others aren't. Really cool video, love the presentation. Something in his dialogue that I find interesting to note is that, when fighting FANG, he says “...all life and death... all are me.” However, when fighting Kage, he says “Death is not power! It is not to be feared! You are not power! Power is me!” I’m not sure exactly what to make of this, but it seems G is capable of changing his rhetoric to most effectively sway whoever’s watching-a general message of “being one” to the masses, specific messages for individuals. Personally, I’m of the common opinion that Q is a degraded version of G, but as to G’s origins, I believe he’s something like Gill or Urien-they have similar elemental powers related to their skin. Gill says G is “undocumented,” and Urien also doesn’t recognize him-if Q is active during the events of SFV, and G is not Q, perhaps G was a model for the Q type of operative? I think the only other piece of info we have is Q’s story, where he shows up around the world-that definitely feels like “one Earth,” doesn’t it? Such an interesting character. I like your interpretation that he's just changing things and telling his opponent what they want to hear. Oh wow, I completely forgot-it’s Super Tuesday! What a neat coincidence. Or... *is it?* Dun dun dunnnn. All according to G’s plan. Yeah, that’s likely. Honestly, I had always seen G in a pretty positive light, so this video gave me some new things to consider, and some points to reconsider. I wonder if it’s possible to synchronize them-not an evil mastermind, but a... good mastermind? I don’t know if that makes sense, though. Q’s only known voice lines, if I recall correctly, are “Why?” and “I’m an abomination,” so he’s clearly conscious enough to be aware of his actions. Additionally, it doesn’t seem too in-character for a man of mystery like Q to be chasing away a crowd of people like what sometimes happens in his intro-maybe that’s G trying to reconnect with the people of Earth, but they only see him as a monster now. If they really are separate people, I hope we get some more hints to their connection in a sequel or something. (Also, I really want to see a Q-G tag-team.)

@@Pomlithe Oh I definitely get what you mean, ideally I'd love it if he were a Dr. Doom figure where he can be considered evil to the greater world, but good in some ways. Like, Doom loves his people, he cares for Valeria Richards (Doom even delivered her when Sue was pregnant and having complications). So I'd love it if G has layers where he could be doing bad or at the worst, controversial things for a good cause or something along those lines. I was always curious about Q's intros. One he's just walking and people are fleeing, the other he seems to be attacking them. Maybe he's feigning being violent to scare them away and leave him alone? Also yup, I am abomination is one of his most famous lines. I'm not sure if he asks "why?", but I gotta listen again to the voice clips. He's definitely aware, he's just very non-verbal normally. I feel that with all the talk about Luke being part of the franchise's future and the mention of him being tied to the past we're going to keep the forward momentum. Just stumbled onto this video. First of all, very well put together, informative and interesting. My current guess for Q and G's relation is very much that G, or his subordinates, created Q in some way. I like to imagine some kind of experiment gone rouge. The reason I specifically think he's gone rouge is because G is someone who CLEARLY cares a lot about his image and how the citizens of Earth view him, so Q going around, either assassinating or being near the assassination of various major figures, or scaring crowds of people like in his fighter intro, while wearing clothes similar to G's followers seems like something G wouldn't necessarily approve of. At least, not in the way Q goes about it.

If they are tied together by origin, I definitely think there's some hostility present. As wacky as G is, he's pretty calculated - make a big scene, get people talking, get them to like him. Look at how his viewer numbers shot up, heck, Gill's storymode makes note that G's become such a celebrity, he used his Let's Fight to publicly unveil himself (which is a GIGANTIC deal since the world at large doesn't know anything about Gill & the Illuminated clubhouse.) So with all this, having a rogue element would be a cause for concern as you said! I'm really hoping that season 5 gives us one last bit of lore to discuss before SF6! :)

I think that G is indeed Q, and it's not that they are different people existing simultanuously, but the person that Viper is investigating is indeed G in that very battle costume! Think about it, G is a shady character, and if he indeed has any under the table business he does, of course he would want to do that while disguised as to not tarnish his public image as "president". And while doing these secret endeavors, what disguise would be better than one that covers up his entire body and face, thus hiding his most defining features, those being his beard and tattos? Also his earth-based powers can easily explain the way he misteriously travels with ease from place to place.

It's certainly a possibility, though the main thing that keeps me thinking that Q is different from G is his one spoken line, "I am...abomination", he seems disgusted by what he is and seems really conflicted over the violence he unleashed upon the opponent, also, in my last video, I pointed to the SF3 developer's notes that showed that Q should seem controlled by outside forces. G, by contrast seems very much in control of himself and very proud of his success. I could see Q being a secret identity for G like in your theory, but there definitely seems to be an element of struggling with Q. If Q was just mysterious and a less flashy G, I would agree with you 100%, but a few things make me wonder like the clumsiness and stiffness. Also, if you look at the Total Destruction start up animation, he seems to be in severe pain when pulling off the move, he clutches his chest hard enough to tear the trench coat. G looks to have great control and east of using his power. Though, Capcom could always change things. I never thought of the Earth powers being a way for him to travel, that's a pretty cool idea! @@ShockyD But that's the thing. When I say that G is Q, I don't mean to say that by the time of SFV G as Q is exactly as he appears in Street Fighter 3. What I think, is that by the time of SFV, G's Q disguise is his alternate costume, and by the time that SF3 rolls around, G was put on the iron mask by someone and became the Q we know, perhaps after being defeated by Gill which we know is capable of defeating G as he has done so before. So the theory still makes sense.

Hey there, thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts! While I'm disappointed that SFV didn't go further into the G&Q mystery and he's not playable in SF6, I get the vibe that they may be hoping to do more, since development is going smoothly and the behind the scenes chaos of SFV isn't an issue this time around. So far there's been two little cameos of G in SF6; in Guile's ending photo at the Metro City barber, there's a picture of G & he's looking like he's recruiting for an army. Then, rather recently with the Holiday Fighting pass trailer, at the very end, if you look at the moon, you can see Rashid pulling a sled with G pointing in a scarf. I think (hopefully) in season 2, they'll be building him up and say what he's been up to for all these years. I'd love to see what his world tour offerings would bring and I agree, I want to see him and JP interact!

@@ShockyDI’m happy to hear my favorite main from sfv is still around in 6 ^^ Hope he does become playable along side Q. I love to see the two interact with jp and get win quotes. If my theory about G and Q being split personality is true. Then we could get a interesting dynamic of JP discovering that the two are one in the same and tries to manipulate G into helping him with his plan (thus leading to rose’s vision of the apocalypse that G will unknowingly create) and maybe even trick G into also trying to send his army or use G’s army to kill Q seeing Q as dangerous to his plans. Thus for jp he can kill two birds with one stone and get a benefit from it too.

That's one of the theories I've been thinking of that may be true, also, the next video I'm trying to finish addresses the camera men in G's stage that have the masks too. I feel that G's followers, willing or unwilling have to wear the mask, but Q is a special case. SFV version we've seen appears removable. It's like a hockey mask with a strap, but production art shows Q has a shell-like mask that covers his whole head and apparently has a lock on the side of it. Q may have tried to resist and was punished then escaped.

Gill knows this and since 5 is before 3 idk how long before G must either be defeated by Gill or just take the backstage exit and wait to strike back in the next game. Capcom kinda has this thing with characters faking the funk. Look at DMC ninja theory did the heavy lifting but that is capcoms story the redesigns all of that. Vergil plays long lost brother and helps you take out Mundus only to replace him in the end ,That was his end game. DMC 5 makes you think Vergil is dead and gone but he’s actually V the guy who’s been helping you all along. Treachery makes for a good tale remember metal gear solid? On shadow Moses snake trusted master Miller his old trainer and confidant. Come to find out it was liquid snake all along. G could just be faking the funk let’s be friends let’s be one. He’s too powerful and there obviously something nefarious going on. Maybe he just wants to clear the path no Bison no Urien no Gill the earth following him on footube and backing him as president of the world only for him to turn around and do something dastardly. Remember SF3? I don’t remember which version it was but one of them in Alex or Gill ending had Gill leading the world it seemed he made everyone red and blue and split the ocean to lead everyone to a new land or something like that. What's interesting is if you'll notice, Gill, either through his Seraphic Wing or some other means "shows people" their vision of harmony, yet when he asks G, he does his usual garble of speech and Gill can't understand. It could be interesting if Gill, in wanting to use G to break Illuminati protocols and reveal himself to the world, ended up getting played by G somehow. G knows some of his tricks now, so that could come to bite him in the end. I see what you're saying about Gill, but I do think that he is evil, only playing merciful. The godly wisdom angle you're going with is interesting, but when you look at details, it's clear Gill has some less than benevolent plans. Someone in the SRK.com lore threads looked at the prophecy in the book of Maharia and it's possible that the savior is NOT supposed to be Gill, but it's supposed to be one who comes after him (it states that a boy will arrive after the black moons fall and 130 days of nothingness. Gill's already in his mid to late 20s, so even if we're being generous with the boy label, Gill's too old....but Alex may fit since he's at least 18 - he mentions not voting for G). Since Gill and Urien made it into their elite status, they've been fast tracking their plans, Urien, used money and even murdered some of the old council as Viper speculates in Urien's story mode to get things going their way. Gill appears divine and loving to Kolin, but like I mentioned earlier about what his Seraphic Wing shows people, if you look closly at what their exchange is, in his story mode, when Kolin is going on about a Utopia Gill says "Indeed, Kolin. You were able to see that." "During my revelation, the ignorant will see it the way that the ignorant wish to see, and the wise will see it the way the wise wish to see..." What he shows a target appears to be their own desire, not what he's actually going to do. The Secret Society / Illuminati are pretty shady, if you look at Necro, he was just a poor Russian boy who wanted something more out of life and to break out of being just 1 of the kids in his family. He at some point met Gill and his group and they initially sweet talked him into joining, then forcefully mutated him and others they've kidnapped, and put them in subhuman conditions. There Necro and Effie fall in love and try to escape, Gill's been trying to have them killed ever since. Also, the promised land ending from Gill has an issue, he's going to save only a few "worthy" and let the rest of humanity die. At the end of the day, Gill and Urien are human, but use the (I always forget the number) 63? 66? sacred treasures to appear godly. They're beholden to their emotions, greed, and pettiness. Since Gill is the "golden child" he appears so much better than Urien, but with the little we know, there's enough to be worried that Gill isn't as altruistic as he appears. The Emperors and Presidents also appear to have a short reign, supplementary material shows that they start training at 6, get selected in 20s and their reign ends at 46. So Gill may be fast tracking things since he's on a clock. I do agree with you, that G may be Shinnok of things. We know so little of him and his powers are more on the weirder side of things akin to Gill and Urien's (metal skin, magnetism, complete mastery of fire and ice rather than the rest of the casts unique ki abilities.) So he may come from the Illuminati side of things and be wanting to stamp them out. Part of the fun is the excitement of speculating! It’s biblical in a sense the drama of two brothers akin to Cain and Abel the greed the pettiness. It’s deep there’s so many ways capcom can go with this now a grand tale over 30 years in the making I’m excited to know more and to speculate with you. I had to come back and watch this video again. Something is telling me that they’re all connected somehow if you played God of War after the second game you learned that Kratos is in fact Zeus son like Hercules and was scared of the fate that befell his own father the titan Chronos as the tradition almost mandates in a way that the son usurp the father to attain power. That whole trepidation lead to Kratos not only wanting to kill Zeus but ultimately bring down Mount Olympus itself. Illuminati could be like mount olympus Urien in his rage already killing council men to have his way.Gill fire and ice golden hair Urien metal and magnetism G earth seemingly volcanic moving golden earth tattoos or markings. They could be related 3 pieces to a pie I really want to see what Rose has to say about him other than the fool card. In the tv show she pulled a fool card on Bison and he almost destroyed the world manipulated by some other worldly thing. G says that everyone will be one with him fight as one not to go off rails but maybe that’s why there are so many Q sightings and perhaps that’s why his fighting style is similar but lacking grace compared to G just because the individual is fighting the programming. I love Bison, but we've seen a lot of him and ever since 3S, nothing of that side of the SF universe, so their return has been great and I hope it builds in SF6. I never, ever expected them to build up Kolin this much, and they've done a great job, so seeing more of their plot play out will be great! Nice idea with the GoW comparisons (I feel there's something tying him to them and that could be very interesting, also, I'm right there with you in being hyped for what else Rose will say. I need Capcom to give us a release date! Hah. Agreed on the Shadaloo Dolls comparison. One of the theories I really subscribe to is the multiple Q's one, heck, in one of my last videos I compared the faint, but interesting similarities between the CIA agent David Spender and Q. One thing that's always been weird is that the few times in his game sprite, we see Q's skin, he appears to be tan or black, with blond hair, but in official art it's either ambiguous, Caucasian, or obscured. An idea that floats around in my head is that David is secretly one of the Q's who either got freed or has been brainwashed and is in a deep cover situation where he unconsciously becomes Q like Jekyll and Hyde. In his 3d strike ending, after the agents leave, Q is seen putting on a coat and exiting. We never know who leaves in what order, but of the three agents, David's body most resembles Q.

I've read some interesting information, and it makes me think these two aren't as linked as it seems. For one, a character resembling Q can be seen in Ken's stage in SF2 (which was changed later). As far as I've seen, it doesn't seem totally confirmed, but there's statements that say Q was under investigation at that time. Also, SFV was G's first appearance, SF3 was Q's, and 3 takes place afterward, but if the info I mentioned before is true, then Q has been around before G. I also found an interview that mentions Q had no relevance to the main story (then again things can always be retconned): shmuplations.com/sfiii/ And the whole G-project that someone mentioned in the comments makes me think G may have had a connection to it, and that may also explain those two other figures dressed the same. I guess for me, I like having Q just remain the enigma that he is, and I see G more as an homage in some way. It's just my way of looking at it, and who knows, maybe the theories are more accurate then I would think. Or maybe the devs just like messing with people.

Hi there, Thanks for checking out the video and replying! About the SF2 Ken stage thing. It's an interesting case, while in the old days Capcom didn't confirm anything about the fan speculation, in Wayne Nakamura's CFN profile, they make mention of him investigating the "man in the trench coat, spotted at one of the American ports" (game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/132370?lang=en) Also Viper's profile states that she's been looking into Q as well. (game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column-130199?lang=en) It seems that Capcom may have adopted the "Q is on Ken's boat" SF2 theory into their canon,but time will tell. With G & Q, the things you mentioned are why I'm not 100% on them being the same person. With regards to G, his President gimmick seems to be new in his storymode, but as for the man, we have no idea how long he's been lurking and that makes for some interesting potential. Has he always been around in the shadows, using different identities to get people's attention? Was he inspired by the urban legend in the SF universe of "Trench Coat man" or was he the first and then made Q as a puppet or slave? There's a lot of ways this could go. So, while SFV is before 3, it's been stated that Q's sightings have been going on for a long time, but they don't say for how long. It just gets to the point that the CIA's public relations guy, Richard Burgman, has to make a "we cannot confirm nor deny his existence" message since they keep getting questions from the public. As for the G-Project, I'm still not sure what to make of that. In SF3, it's a bunch of secret docs by Gill that Ibuki is sent to steal. They're his plans to rule the world basically, though in Gill's story mode he has no idea who G is (and in 3rd strike's Japanese only quotes, he has no idea who or what Q is either), but says G's powers are familiar. It could be possible G was an excommunicated member of the Illuminati, changed his identity/faked his death, and Gill inherited G's old plans and called them the G project. I've seen some good fan theories on this! :) I like Q being mysterious too, but a little more details to keep the questions coming are fun and keep interest alive. Oh and the devs DEFINITELY love to mess with us. Recently, a translated version of "How To Make Capcom Fighting Characters" stated that G is intended to be a boss of sorts (they never said how), and some other fun details, but the developers also said they're aware of the connections people are trying to make regarding G & Q and they're happy with the response and want us to keep guessing hah. @@ShockyD Wow, wasn't expecting to get a response. Some stuff I know either wasn't totally confirmed, I just remember the boat thing being big. I actually had a recent idea of Q and G's whole thing. It's mainly just a theory, and I have little to no evidence to back it up. Basically I figured Q was some kind of "bio weapon" set out to capture strong fighters, but stayed out of Bison's way due to him just being strong with his Psycho Power. Q, or possibly multiple Qs, captured several subjects for the secret society, each with special abilities, or given them. I was thinking G might've been one that escaped, which is also why you see that concept art showing two other people wearing the mask. G stated he learned various fighting styles, so I figured his training in the society might have been similar to Q, but Q is unrefined, and G is controlled. I figured he took on the president persona as some kind of jab at Gill or Urien. It's really only a theory, and the devs probably don't care either way, it's just fun to speculate I guess. As a side note, I remembered seeing Q's shock animation, which shows he has no bones visible. And I was reminded about how Urien refers to Nash as a "mud doll." It's a detail I remembered, although I doubt there's any significance. Anyway, sorry about that long ramble, that theory literally came into my head right after I posted that.

Apparently he's the secret fighter in his game, and can only be fought through specific means, much like Akuma (at least that's what the wiki said). Also G may know Urien more, but may have only heard of Gill, that's just a guess of mine. Either way, they might not even be aquainted with the Secret Society either.

what if Dan is Q, he isn't in 5 or 3 but he is seen as the first person to shake G's hand, and is directly to his right when they are marching. Dan might have been all for G at first but when he learns his true intentions he tries to stand up to him and loses. G then tries to mind control him and locks the mask on him. This could also play into how Q trips cause Dan is portrayed as incompetent and even when mind controlled he can't fight right. Just a fun little theory. Hoping for Dan and Q in season 5!

That's an interesting idea, though it seems like they are possibly separate people. It seems Q was seen in the SF2 days. In my latest video, I address this, but Capcom took the old "Is Q in Ken's stage" idea and made it official. The CIA investigator, Wayne Nakamura's profile states they saw a man in an American Port and have been investigating him ever since. In Viper's SFV profile, it says she's also chasing Q. Also, looking at G's CPT stage & concept art, it seems his followers dress like his story costume version of G's costume. They has a strap like a hockey mask and red eyes, but old concept art shows that Q is locked into his helmet. Woooow never noticed those "Twitter" details... Capcom deserves SOME props after all. It sucks they wasted so much resources on that cinematic story mode A Shadow Falls because now we'll never see the continuation from Season 3 onwards where Ed and his "Neo Shadaloo" gang are on the loose, I would have been okay with cutscene stills between matches as long as the story mattered more. We don't even see half of s3 and s4 onwards "Story Costume" in the actual story.... Back to G, I think for sure he is Q because you can't just change your fighting style thaaaaat much. Now that we have Gill (I'm late watching this video) and it's been confirmed in an interview that G is the final boss of SFV and Rose being out, I personally think that G failed to defeat Gill and that's why he's considerably "weaker" and hiding as "Q", but doing a very poor job OR He realized he's not strong enough and he's biding his time and gathering his strength or an "army" or something like that to strike The Illuminati.

I was thinking that Gill took G for Project G, and initially I believed that he stole his powers (but obviously how does Gill exist if he uses G’s powers for his flame already?). Whatever the case, it’s clear he’s related to the Illuminati in some way. I don’t think G and Q are the same person, or if they are G is entirely in control, due to the notable personality differences. HOWEVER, Q is basically missing all of G’s geomancy powers outside of SA3, so it’s possible G loses confidence in his claim of being President of the World TM when he loses his geomancy (since his voice lines make it clear part of how he backs his claim is his geomancy).

One of the better ways someone described what I want was something like "for every 1 answer given, 20 more questions should spring up." Going this route keeps Q mysterious, but gets us to learn and speculate more. If we never learn anything more about him than what was shown in SF3, he'll stagnate, at least in my opinion. Wolverine in the early days of the comics was a good balance. We knew things about him, but so much of his past was a mystery. I'd like that for Q.

Tbh, I think that G is a manifestation of earth’s will or something like that trying to accomplish whatever goal it is trying to accomplish. Hmm, that is an interesting idea! Him being mystical could be possible, though Q appears to have been running around since before G unveiled himself to the world. In the Shadaloo CRI profiles, the mention that the old fan theory of Q being in Ken's SF2 stage seems to have been made canon. In Wayne Nakamura's profile, it mentions he and the team are investigating a mysterious man who was first seen in an American port (Ken's SF2 stage), also Viper as of SFV was pursuing him. Interestingly, the concept art of G shows a male and female follower. They're dressed identically to his SFV story costume, and on his CPT stage, there are camera men who have that version of the mask. Only Q so far has the metal mask that covers his whole head and he dresses more plainly than G' or his followers. He may have been a "heretic" and punished in some way and left to wander the earth for all this time. Your theory could have some basis; he may be like Capcom's version of Orochi, but I hope we get some info in SF6 especially after Rose's storymode.

To be honest, with all the G simularities to Q and G's recent appearence beating Dan in Dans SFV arcade story I dont know if SFV is more in line with the SF3 or SFA series. Then again, "Eleven" (the precursor to Twelve as said in the Season Pass) is a thing as well as Oro coming later on down the line it may be more in line in three now that I think about it. But that begs the question: whose gonna be that fifth fighter? 🤨 I don't know...I go back to practicing Q in third strike now. Keep up the good work Shocky! 👍

I'd say definitely more in line with SF3 with the major plot movement forward, Gill's involvement and the characters being on the cusp of the events of SF3 second impact. Heh, I've been trying to see if there's any hints on who character 5 could be, but I'm coming up short. For a highly unlikely, but important pick, I could see Tom, Alex's mentor show up and tie things into SF3. At this point though, the only thing is that seems clear is that due to the 3 costumes, people think the character will be male. @@ShockyD Yeah man, the more I think of it the more SF3 comes to mind (aspects mostly). Im really curious just to see G's responce to Rose (and vice versa) considering he's "The Fool" in Terot. A card reading shes all to familar to with... Besides that, the fifth fighter being male would be dope. G has purple eyes and his body seems to have glowing patches. Maybe whatever that is might be protecting his skeleton i don't know tbh. I just thought that was pretty cool.
