In 1977, a recording of "Flowing Water" (Liu Shui, as performed by Guan Pinghu, 管平湖) was chosen to be included in the Voyager Golden Record, a gold-plated LP recording containing music from around the world, which was sent into outer space by NASA on the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecraft. It is the longest excerpt included on the disc.

下指乾淨好難得，氣息平淡沈歛不易。下右指時得用腰帶動，右指少自己用力，可使琴曲多些流水磅礡氣勢，特別是起曲的 5 5. 5，以拉大山高水沛的場景；在節奏上鋪陳穩健，但曲中有數處停太久了，沒了流水的連貫性。整體很棒，假以時日，磨利腰身，必成大師。

This is my favourite recording of this piece. It is performed much softer. Also the artist pulls the strings at times others just press them down, moving their fingers around. Like this, it makes more musical "sense" to me.

还推荐大家去听听曾成伟老师的川派的《流水》，返璞归真，已入化境。七十二滚拂是蜀人张孔山所作，所以川派的版本可以说是“正宗”，但少为人所知。蔡老师的风格算是龚一先生一派的，其实李祥霆一派的流水也是大开大合的精彩，就是视觉和音效不如自得做得好而已。央音在大众推广方面，真的不如上音活络。
