Görlitz is the easternmost town in Germany. West of the Neisse River, which forms the border with Poland situated, can look back on the city an almost 1000-year history, was first mentioned in Görlitz 1071st Even today, impressed the city with many historic buildings. My walk leads from the station on the Berlin street by the Strasbourg court with the passage to the post magnificent post office, the beautiful fountain - the Muschelminna, the courthouse square and the dominant Art Nouveau building. Northeast is followed by the Frauenkirche, which was consecrated in 1473rd On the Demianiplatz, who will play in a subsequent video again a role, you will find among other things, the Art Nouveau department store, which opened in 2013 for the 100th Fifth anniversary. It is one of the best preserved pre-war Germany's department stores and boasts excellent facilities. Unfortunately, the building is currently largely unused. The big tower on Marienplatz is the most massive building in the city. Its walls are up to 5.34 m thick. It was built at 1250th About the Elizabeth Street, we reach the mountain road, which is located at the entrance to Ochsenbastei. Here you are hiking on the old city wall directly above the banks of the Neisse River and has a view of the eastern part of Görlitz, the present Polish Zgorzelec. On the Old-town bridge ends my walk. For the first time it has been given in 1298 at this point a bridge. Today's Neisse-Crossing was created until 2004.
