Francis Cooper I know, right?!
@Blessbiczezz9 жыл бұрын
Francis Cooper I regret starting this novel. That's like my first visual novel I've finished and after epilogue I feel broken I love this story so hard that I don't feel like living anymore without it, like seriously. Without epilogue it'd be easy to go on, but I just stared at ending credits cuz I didn't believe that Maou died so easily and baaang, epilogue happened. Feels overwhelmed me after friends visited him at prison and he acted tough to not make problems to everyone and how he started lying to detective calling haru bitch and all just to protect her. But okay, I still could live with that. But after Haru came to met him with his daughter jesus fucking christ, I thought it's Iwa's daughter and when she told him it's his i just fucking died literally, I was drowning in my tears I feel like a pussy now, 21y old man cried like a little kid. Oh god I want to forget about this novel.
@franciscooper8409 жыл бұрын
+Blessbiczezz Despite tearing me (and probably everyone else apart) apart emotionally, I feel like the epilogue was the icing on the cake that made the visual novel so good. Like, the beginning where you think you're seeing it from Kyousuke's perspective and Haru answers the door and BOOM turns out Maou's back was just so well executed. And the fact that Kyousuke's interrogation and his talks with Tsubaki, Kanon and Mizuha at the end were so emotionally affecting is amazing for a work of fiction. To be honest, I think seeing Haru with Kyousuke's daughter at the end helped brighten the ending for me. I feel like knowing that Haru and Kyousuke will be happy together is what makes me love the ending so much
@Pik3rob9 жыл бұрын
Francis Cooper Which of the 3 would you say made you the most emotional?
@franciscooper8409 жыл бұрын
+Pik3rob Definitely Little Busters. I read Clannad after seeing the anime adaption 5 or 6 times over the years, so while it still hit me like it always does, I more or less knew what to expect. G Senjou no Maou was different, in that where Clannad aims to make you sad with every route, and you spend the entire last ~6 hours depressed af, GSnM was focused more on the mystery aspect. The tearjerker ending was a home run an really fit, but it wasn't as hard hitting (for me) as the other two were. Little Busters is something else though. Like god damn. There are 8 main routes; the 6 heroine routes, a 7th alternate version of the main heroine's route which leads to Refrain (basically the ~8-12 hour epilogue route). LB builds up with a really happy and comedic common route that changes with each playthrough and then culminates in the most shocking and heart-breaking plot twist possible. If you're into that sort of thing and think you can handle it, I suggest reading it right away. That fucked me up for a solid week haha. They're all excellent VNs, but LB had the most lasting effect on me.

its been like 10 years dude. actually might have been 8. and i just randomly had to remember this and go on an emotional and nostalgic rollercoaster. this shit, this goddamn novel dude. i remember reading through it and doing all the routes, thinking this was just another vn. it was decent, but the mystery of the long haired weirdo girl was always there, along with the weird dude that sometimes showed up. i still cant conceive how insane, emotional, crack fueled of an adventure that was. im fucking 22 now, and this song still almost makes me cry. definitely one of the best vn's, would be the best if it wasnt ryuukushi and his weird ass universe that somewhat tops it off. definitely a lot more emotional tho. i remember... goddamn WEEKS of not being able to function as a human being because of this vn. this vn, along with ryuukushi stuff and a couple of others were probably the reason i had the most volatile and emotional puberty. i started smoking because of this shit. yes. and i stopped smoking, weeks ago, and im about to relapse (dont worry it wont happen i just like being overdramatical). even things like the main menu music evolving as you go, man... i gotta re-read this, only thing is i dont have much spare time and vns usually drive a goddamn stake into your daily routine, and the emotional impacts affect you a lot. ill make time tho... i somehow will. maybe finish it next week before new years and open my bottle of whiskey at the end... and most importantly, after the whole rollercoaster of an ending, i remember her... calling me dad... i dont normally write cringy like this but this vn makes a difference i guess. also, i never had such sweet happiness tears in my life like in that moment either so, good enough tradeoff.

Would have liked to see at least a scene where they smile together. Kyousuke, Haru and their little Kiyomi-chan. Like, you know, a little piece of everyday life. Maybe with the Valentine chocolate he never managed to eat. It's clear that the ending is the happiest ending. But without actually seeing them enjoying some "everyday happiness" it feels like it's not real. I'm a fan of happy endings, especially if they come after great hardships. I really would have loved to see such a happy scene. But in the end, I think seeing the smile on Kiyomi-chan when Kyousuke pats her head is probably the happiest thing we could ever wish for. I was disappointed in the end. I really wanted a moe-like happy end. Tons of sugar to cleanse away the sadness of that epilogue. And I'm still crying for that. And I know why. Because I liked this VN so much. Because I fell in love with the characters. Especially Haru and Kyousuke, whom I didn't like from the beginning. Maybe I grew up with them. I felt the weight of those hardships they faced like they were mine. That's why I was sad when he got arrested. That's why I was angry when the cops forced him in a situation where he needed to lie in order to save her. That's why I almost cried when the little cinnamon roll called him "Otoo-san". That's why I sobbed when Haru said "You were and will always be the only one for me". He gave her the greatest gift a lover could give: he literally sacrificed his own freedom to give her the opportunity to play violin again without people badmouthing her. And she gave him the greatest gift a lover could give: she remained loyal, "in the good times and in the bad times". I will never forget this VN as long as I live. I will never die peacefully as long as there is someone out there who have never read it.

I just finished this and I'm sad it's over. I was about ready to close the game after the credits and go to sleep happily when bam, epilogue. When he got out of prison and saw Haru with her child I immediately thought it was Iwa's daughter. I was filled with anger thinking that Haru would forget about Kyousuke and their promise, after everything they have been through just to get with a side character. But once she said daddy, I couldn't help by smile and cry. Glad I read this VN, I've read many but rarely has one made me feel the way I do now.
@katawaplayer15047 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, I kinda expected the novel to end with something like that but with the daughter being Iwai´s since Kyousuke and Usami farewell scene. Some kind of foresight. The letter later in the game only confirmed it. It would be quite a poetic (and kind of relatable for me) ending. Fitting for this novel indeed. When Kyousuke walked out and saw the silhouettes I was like "I fucking knew it!!" ...and then I found out it was Kyousuke´s daughter. I almost fell of my chair and felt something in my mind cracking. The novel sure had some plot twists, but kept the best for the very end.

way too late to comment but it's funny that i had the exact opposite... when i saw those figures i thought it was haru and her daughter but i also thought "after all the hell and horrors they went through there's literally no way that haru forgets her love for kyosuke" even if she had to wait a longer time... love and bonds do tend to get way stronger after going through rough experiences together.

The one to blame is the dem animators This always happens in almost all animes can you even name 50 animes with the same event happening in its novel or manga? your just rattling about the obvious the moment i said this should have an anime means i will be expecting many errors and such and besides the reason why anime have and changed stuffs from the novel is to appraise or attract new viewers who have no idea about its game and visual novel that is one single fact about anime and anime creators are not bias in judging viewers their purpose is to promote and spread it to new people not to entertain old people who COMPLETELY knows about the story but still watch the anime adaptation if you don't want it then don't watch it and demoralize other people from watching it your just a sick player who selfishly want to enjoy stuff even though it means taking away other peoples enjoyment

I really hope this never gets an anime adaption think of how badly they would rush through everything and fit it into the 12-26 episode range the character development would be bad. Not to mention it's a mystery + as a weekly series it would lose impact especially during the epilogue.
@DaBomb166110 жыл бұрын
I actually think an anime adaptation is very possible. If you look at Steins;Gate, they took a decently long VN and derived a great storyline from it to fit into 24 episodes. An adaptation for G-Senjou no Maou would be even simpler since the True Route is very linear. To make the anime adaptation, they'd need to change a few details. For example, the forced perspective of the VN leads the reader to believe Maou is an alternate personality of Kyousuke. This is impossible in an anime setting, so Kyousuke's headaches happening at the same time as Maou's plots might need to be removed, and Maou would need to be animated in a fashion where the viewer sees a lot less of him. If I was writing the script for an anime adaptation, I'd simply omit the fact that Kyousuke and Haru met in childhood. It's a stupid cliche and I feel the story is stronger if they met for the first time with Haru transferring into Kyousuke's class, and then the two of them suspect each other about the chaotic past between their families. If they slowly fall for each other, the plot drops the "family turmoil" bombshell on them, and they still chose to be together despite it, the romance aspect gets an extra dimension to it that I feel was not properly explored in the VN. Imagine if the adaptation is 26 episodes, and after the credits of episode 25, we get the scene where Haru cheerfully comes to greet Kyousuke at their doorstep only to find Maou glaring at her. Cut to black, and then wait for next week's episode.
@Jakerams10 жыл бұрын
The problem is that they would omit alot the adaption could work if it has a good studio but the odds of that is slim.
@LetsPlayStarBound10 жыл бұрын
DaBomb1661 Why would it be impossible to do that? I mean, they even had Jun Fukuyama do Kyousuke's voice in the Drama CD, so I don't see the problem.
@megamanbluemoon10 жыл бұрын
I'm sure White Fox or Ufotable could pull it off. Both are competent in plot heavy VN adaptions.
@SouBU9510 жыл бұрын
DaBomb1661 Agree with that, but a viable method for the Kyou and Maou scene would be to use silhouettes and the same voice actor as well as using commercial breaks strategically. Say he has a headache before a commercial break, and then when the anime returns we're seeing it from Maou's perspective. The anime could add scenes where they question where Kyou was and such, the standard reply being "I had a headache," could be used to arise suspicion of his within the audience.

I enjoyed Haru's Route the most. Her route has just the right amount of tension and thrill. Also, the SHEER emotional feels her epilogue has.

I just finished this game and hoping for a Anime Adaptation but i read first some comments regarding the Adaptation, some agree because it would be great and some disagrees because it would ruin the original VN by cutting some scences, making lack of details since it might be 12 or 24 episodes and i agree with that in some way but still why not give it a shot? who knows maybe they include all scenes. I know some VNs like Grisaia no Kajitsu got animated and the details were not quite complete but still there are other VNs that had complete details like Steins;Gate for example and it became very popular not only japan but also at the Eastern areas that's why i think this game deserves an Anime adaptation And i think 24-26 episodes is enough to cover the true route. And hey if it's only 12 episodes for example, who knows maybe it's only for just one side heroine chapter right?

Exactly. Just because most of them goes wrong it doesn't mean tha every one will. Steins;Gate is one of the best animes out there and is an adaptation (an outstanding adaptation).

asakabagets I'm against it because there is no way anyone would be able to pull off the Maou/Azai personality split well in an anime. I've wanted it as well and I've wanted people to experience the story but once I started thinking about it I realized it would most likely end up like the Tsukihime anime *shudders*

--SPOILER ALERT-- this song reminds me of the awesome epilogue ever, bittersweet ending like this makes me can't read another VN for a long time.it really break my heart when haru bring his daughter to meet the MC, but my heart almost stop when her daughter call him daddy cause i was thought the girl isn't the MC's daughter. the epilogue makes me wonder what will happen to the MC. I hope they make a small story about what happen next..

I loved this VN, but there are things that I find weird... SPOILER ALERT . . . . . . . . . Everything that happens before Haru's route leads you to think the MC is "Maou"... and I think Kyousuke was going to be Maou but they decided to change it (who knows). On the other routes Maou stopped working, he even said (Kanon's route I think) he found love (WTF). The second reason is they never explained "Maou"'s headaches. They always happened at the same time that Kyousuke's headaches... I understand that every route is a "what-if", but why everytime the MC gets a gf Maou vanishes?... Maybe they rewrote the last chapter... But overall it is an amazing VN...

I'm pretty sure it is because Maou is mainly connected to Haru. Once Kyousuke detaches himself from Haru and goes with another girl, then both Haru and Maou deal with their own problems. While Maou does a lot of large scaled attacks, he really only did it really big due to Haru being in love, having a weak spot. Kyousuke mainly contacted with Maou because it was within his range of interest (Haru).

Its pretty clear the game had its main plot changed near the end there. It was intended for the MC to be "Maou" which I was really looking forward to. Literally everything points towards it being him, including all side routes. I'm guessing they couldn't decide how to end the main route whilst MC being "Maou", making him and Haru get together in the end was too hard for them I suppose. The main route was still good but it really did leave me with a sour taste in my mouth when this random character pops out of nowhere claiming to be "Maou". It was pretty stupid.
@michaelblueknight12686 жыл бұрын
The ambiguity about Kyousuke and Maou was the point all along. The author abused the fact that in VNs the MC is (almost) never voiced and you (almost) always read the entire story from the MC's point of view. From this, they created the ambiguity in the 2 characters to make you believe that they were the same and then PAFF! they fucked your mind. Try reading Ever17 and you'll find out that VNs abuse this shit everytime they get the opportunity xD
