The Casio G-Shock GBD-H2000 earned 5 stars from me for its physical design and functions. Despite the large dimensions, it’s light and fits comfortably. The MIP screen keeps its legibility at all viewing angles and lighting conditions. (Much better than LCD displays.)
Big wristers, take note: this watch band is long and fit my 8 1/2” wrist with a couple notches to spare.
Small wristers shouldn’t write this watch off, though. Yea its 3/4” thick, but you wouldn’t believe that wearing it.
The software of this watch lacked certain features and I gave it only 3 stars. Keep in mind I’ve only had this watch for a couple of days so I may update that rating as I explore this watch more. Stay tuned for updates.
Bluetooth? I hate it. I really don’t like Bluetooth. That’s a subject of a whole other video. I haven’t tried the Bluetooth on this watch and honestly I’m going to see if I can get by without ever using the Bluetooth.
Casio doesn’t tout the ABC sensors on this watch, but just like the ProTreks, Mudmasters, and Rangemans, the GBD-H2000 can tell you the altitude, barometric pressure, and compass bearing. I went into that a little here but that deserves its own video.
Finally, the fitness functions. I’m just setting out to improve my cardiovascular fitness. So I really am not qualified to make a comparison to other fitness watches. But I’ll let you know my impression as I go along my fitness journey so stay tuned.
Thanks for watching, guys!
UPDATE!
I made a reReview video:
• GBD-H2000 (updated) RE...
I started yelling in this reReview video. I do like the watch a lot but I had too much pre-workout or something and started yelling. Some people complained but what was yelled cannot be unyelled.

The steel pointer pen I use is the Zebra F-701, which costs a bit more than a typical pen but it's money well spent in my opinion. It won't break and you can buy replacement ink cartridges. Just don't lose it!

Great video again with such accurate information (same as your video on your GXW-56, it's spot on with every detail). I'm also not a person who would use the bluetooth or fitness-features. But it indeed has amazing legibility, solar and durability (most important features for me). I hoped it had a analog watchface to choose, but it didn't, so I've send it back for now. I hope they will add the auto-time-sync with GPS, like you say, and maybe an analog watchface, then it would be PERFECT :D

Hello! I bought this watch and I think it has a problem with solar charging The watch came with 3/5 battery lines, I exposed it to the sun for a total of approximately 8 hours and it did not charge at all. Should I have left it longer or is that how much solar is charged? In the manual it is specified that it does not charge until high, but I think one line should have charged more. Thank you
@JimKinkade
@JimKinkade Ай бұрын
The solar charging just assists the overall battery level of the watch. It doesn't add a whole lot and it can't keep up with constant usage of the GPS and HRM. I've only seen the sun add one single bar of battery level. You will need to plug it in eventually.

The functions you are looking for (GPS, etc) you have to connect it to your phone. Also the watch tracks the workouts without the phone just fine but you should connect to the phone because that info will start to build up on the watch until you connect to a phone. I have the previous model and it's the same except the new watch is lighter and you have more workout modes besides running.

@JimmyKinkade You may like the app. There is very little downside to the app (Bluetooth wise). The app can send a text/picture of your GPS route once the workout is completed.

@JimKinkade

Ashley, the solar charging just gives the battery a boost. The watch cannot charge just by solar alone. The GPS and Heart Rate monitor drain the battery quicker than if you just used it as a watch.

@@ashleymoss2673 eventually you’ll need to charge it. It might take months or even a year. How much you use the heart rate monitor affects the battery life. 1. What about notifications? How it works from different app from smartphone. 2. Battery life. Example: BT on, GPS off.
@JimKinkade
@JimKinkade Жыл бұрын
1. I'm using it without the smartphone application. But I know it just relays notifications from the phone with either a beep, vibration, or both. It's not that sophisticated. You can't reply to them or anything. 2. If you leave the HRM on all the time and work out a lot the battery will last a week to 10 days depending on sun exposure. If you have the HRM on only for workouts then it will last about a month.
