Love Haas. My boy Logan from Rockford just left after repairing our lathe we crashed last week. Knocked it out of the park as usual. There’s many good machine tool builders out there. But the service department is what separates good from great, and Haas has got the service down cold.

Even good one would be how Haas Manages Cutting Tool Data , or tackles Cutting problems such as poor tool life or chatter i.e Haas "workflow" or "Best tips to Cut" , provided you guys operate 100s of machines at your shop !!! Excited to see any of these suggestions make the list.

great video, i didn't know about the negative radius "trick" it'll come in handy for sure :-) could you make a video about G150 used with the C-axis? for example a round bar with 4 square pockets evenly spread around the circumference... possibly on a UMC-750? i've recently had an issue with this, where the machine would not rotate the commanded G91 C90 in G55 or G53, when the G55 C=0 is offset any amount of degrees. it would add or subtract the offset in G55 (even when commanding G91 G53 C90), so it would only move 88 degrees, if the offset was at -2 degrees, or 92 degrees if the offset was at +2 degrees... it only did it in the M97 subprogram where G150 was present, and not in any other M97 subprograms... sorry for the long comment, but i figure you guys are the best to ask. my local Haas servicecenter here in denmark haven't gotten back to me with a solution yet :-)

Video request for the future: Hand programming a bore milling with radius compensation and with a radius at the start and at the end to avoid the little left "V" shaped material where the tool first contacts with the workpiece. It is a really nice way to do bores for narrow tolerances (to put a bearing for example) where you can only use endmills and that little left material (0.02-0.03mm) can cause problems.
@Rob_654 жыл бұрын
Love this explanation, we are all running to the toy shop to buy a wooden train set 😉 But all joking aside: at 4:15 you show a window with a graphic representation of the toolpath. Is there a way to visualize the toolpath on an NGC to simulate a program before executing it ?
@markterryberry44774 жыл бұрын
We can press the 'GRAPHICS' button, in the top right corner of the keypad, and this will put the machine in Graphics Mode. We can safely check a program visually from there. On Classic Controls, we would press the SETTING/GRAPHICS button twice to enter Graphics Mode.

If you G0 out of a workpiece like that, you're gonna be scrapping parts. Go up and out before G0 sideways. Same with starting a program; G0 to safe distance above the part, the G0 to XY, then go to the desired depth. But that may be just me..
@peteroosterum4 жыл бұрын
I have a question ... Maybe it has already been explained in previous tips ..... but What is the best way, for Aluminum / Bronze / Brass Routing milling when milling from A to B, and your workpiece is below line A-B Or counter-current milling when you mill from B to A, and your workpiece is below the line B-A. Sometimes I have strange areas in the material, I think it is due to the milling direction. Thank you, greetings from Holland.

When hand programming I think it's better to use I J K rather than R because if you mess up the position on the I J K it will alarm out but the R will just make it happen, with potentially expensive results.
