Despite of all the errors in the 5 Faces of Darkness ( All 5 episodes ) it was pretty good. I also think that the Predacons are created by the Quintessons ( if you think about after they created the Transformers ancestors than after which they created mechanical beasts like the Sharkacons & the Allicons ). Also learn that the Quintessons can't be trusted but also they're a bigger threat than the Decepticons.

The voice Welker made for Galvatron during the early toy commercials was so much better and deeper. It was so much closer to Nimoy's take I'm really puzzled why they made Galvatrons voice sound so silly in S3.

Ah yes the five faces of darkness and the start of season 3. Season 3 was mixed with transforners fans at the time... The Postive - Season 3 explore more transformers lore, Rodimus's character development on struggle becoming leader, and memorable moments. The Negative- AKOM is taking over most of the animation department of season 3 and 4, kids were still upset that their favorite characters are still dead and written out of the show for good to be replaced with the new characters, Quintesson are the creators of the Transformers but Hasbro years quietly ignore this origin and stick with Primus being creators, Daniel and Wheelie a lesser cool duo of Spike and Bumblebee, and people still hate Rodimus.

I saw these episodes on video in 1996. It had been a while since I had seen a G1 episode, so I was extremely pleased. I liked the season 3 more than I did in the 80s. The horned and bearded Transformers from the flashbacks look cool.

It was strange, but in south America the movie was never shown after a few years. We saw from season 2 to season 3 without knowing nothing about the events of the movie (the death of Optimus prime, the matrix, Megatron becomes galvatron, etc). In the first episode it was strange that Optimus was never mentioned instead rodinus was refered as the saviour of the Autobots. I thought it was a transformers prequel from season 1, but then why was menasor, spike and grimlock there. Astrotrain at least mentions Megatron. Then in 1990 I finally saw the movie and everything made sense. One thing I always notice about season 3, the animation was pure crap and actually the transformation of both Autobots and deceptions were barely shown. In this 5 episodes we never see rodimus transform, we never see grimlock in his robot mode. The only thing that season 3 improved was the setting and stories, it felt more dark and interesting than G1 2nd season.
