Game 1 felt like vintage G2. Just winning over the map even without kills, creative picks and comps, but when it's time to fight, they still deliver. But yeah, it's just one series. International tournaments is where it should really matter. I'm an LCK fan but it's getting boring without seeing a western team be competitive

the way they won this series is very promising because it shows that the work they are putting in their mid game is doing something, it was really hard seeing g2 at worlds last year winning early game vs dwg/wbg then throwing in the mid game just to win the game again in the late game when the games should have been ended cleanly

Why should it matter there? We get 1.5 international tournaments per year, it's like 5% of a team's gameplay. I understand why it would matter for players but for viewers, it actually doesn't matter other than for spamming pastas in region chats for the vast majority of the year.

You forget that it wasn't all that long ago that two western teams were in the finals for MSI, and within that same span of time a western team was in the world finals for two years in a row. Its underdog tournaments like those that are worth watching. If I cheer for Western teams for a decade and only see them win worlds once, it'll be worth it.

Got to say that G2 analysed BDS perfectly. They always had kind of bad Macro but where insane when it came to Teamfights. G2 just went: ok we might be able to bet you there too but why would we evene bother? BDS is still a clear top spot contendor but every year G2 look shaky at the first split and then they just demolish everybody in a BO series. It is clear that when they are all on top of their game G2 is completely unmatched in EU atm and they have the extremely huge advantage of having no style. They can play pretty much everything they want and that was what made them strong in 2019. I was super suprised about their worlds performance after the 2 0, it did not look like them and was really sad. I hope they can keep this up for MSI/Worlds this year. I think G2 is showing a good trend of not benching to many people for just a bad split (sure they also did but in general) and i hope that tone will at some point get to the other teams. I had a hard time supporting G2 when everything with Ocelote went down but i feel like enough time has passed to be a fan again :D

the spell is really weak at level 1 tho, and leveling W gives a lot, ad ratio won't help much early game, and later with a lot of atck speed, the cast time may not be worth the damage
