G4 was really good, I started watching it as soon as I saw it in my directv guide, I was immediately hooked, Once it got took down on directv, I immediately gave directv the middle finger, and switched to dish just so I could watch it. Spring 2005-Summer 2007: the most nostalgic memories of G4 before I moved. I fondly remember watching E3 2006 on there, watching X-play, Early Filter episodes where they focused on videogame Top 10s before they replaced Diane Mizota (I think that was her last name?) with that blonde woman and they started making it about non-videogame stuff, Cheat! but mostly the Kristen Holt episodes, Judgment Day, Electric Playgroud (thankfully, they're still on KZbin), Cinematech, and Brainiac, especially for that hot nurse that was in some episodes.

Instead they brought back the Era that was responsible for people hating it in the first place. The worse part is that they don't even show classic episodes of their old shows. Just constant reruns of their new trash. And I was never a fan of AOTS and I hate it even more now

I watxhdd from 2002 to 2005. I stopped because I went to the army and nowhere I was had the network available. I was big on the forums but fell off while in the service. When I came back home in 2009 the network was crap. Even my dad was watching G4 now but only because he loves cops and just goes to whatever the digital cable says its airing on. Sad its gone but it wasnt the same.

I remember the That's Plugged In era of G4 as a kid living in the middle of nowhere and having Dish and watching footage of XPlay and other shows and seeing games I would've loved to play like Fortnite when it was gonna be a simple survival building game announced in early 2010s and seeing turn into what is today and seeing footage for MW3 and other titles being announced and seeing it die and w ok wondering for years why I never saw another episode of Japanese Ninja Warrior air on tv until I was 15, to be young and enjoying life back then i wish this TV channel never died so I can see some of the old shows and such. (G4 IS BACK IM SO EXCITED ITS BACK)

The truly ironic part about G4 is that their initial decline is almost directly related to their decline and demise during their short-lived relaunch: Their parent network Comcast not learning from their mistakes. Comcast just never learned to get out of its own way. During G4’s initial airing in 2002-2003, which started as lightning in a bottle, increasing viewership to secure sponsors was the challenge. They absolutely nailed the advertising, but they needed to do more to help the network flourish. As they struggled to grow the viewerbase, they had a revolving door of CEOs almost every year or two, each with a different vision for how to potentially address the opportunities for growing viewership. Ultimately, the decision to pull focus away from gaming and instead allowing the network to crumble into a cesspool of male-centric content (The Man Show and Hurl, among others) not only alienated female viewers that loved G4 for what it started out as, but ironically drove their viewership DOWN. They had original content that wasn’t given nearly enough time to grow an install base, and it all gradually got cut (G4TV.com, Filter, Blister, Sweat, Portal, etc). Judgment Day doesn’t count as original content as it existed as Reviews on the Run in Canada already and was the product of a partnership formed between Comcast and Victor Lucas to help bolster their network content. The problem with the relaunch was the LACK of original content that would have helped establish a new identity for the network to differentiate it from everyone else on Twitch and KZbin sharing the niche that filled the void left by G4 over a decade prior. Mismanagement almost always kills a good thing, and G4 is an unfortunate casualty of such.

I remember G4TV back in my high school days. That channel was like MTV for those who loved to play video games and were computer aficionados. After Charles Hirschorn stepped down as the CEO of the network, and Neal Tiles took over, that's when the network would head for its inevitable doom. After Neal Tiles became the CEO of G4TV, the network would lose its identity by airing shows that had nothing to do with gaming and technology such as the Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Fastlane, Lost, Cops, Cheaters, and Campus PD. When Attack of the Show and X-Play ended, the network was dead. Then it came back in 2021, but it didn't last forever due to the following, lack of leadership, underpayment, competing with KZbin and Twitch streamers, lack of ideas, low viewership, underpromotion, constant layoffs, and last but not the main reason, that infamous rant about sexism in gaming.
