Choose VCID_1 always. VCID 2 is usually lesser quality data

I think, The proportion of vegetation (PV) and emissivity (ε) are not used for Landsat 5 and 7 because the thermal bands of these sensors are not radiometrically calibrated. This means that the DN values in the thermal bands do not have a direct physical meaning, such as radiance or brightness temperature.

what is meant by QCAL? Are these values the result of the calibrated band?

You are right. QCAL is quantized calibrated pixel value in DN. Thank you.

@@rinawatirinnanda9796 No you don't need to do that. Because in LST you are doing radiometric calibration within the process. Just download the Image and then preprocessed (like cloud removing, scanline error for Landsat 7) and then just do the mentioned steps. Thank you.

Hi, I have been using your method for calculating LST for both Landsat 7 and 5 images on ArcMap and it has worked very well. However, I am now trying to calculate LST for two Landsat 5 images from 1990 and 1995 but I keep getting error 000539 and I'm not sure what is going wrong. Please can you help.

I think It can be spatial reference issues. You can fix this or restart your PC and try again.
