The worst part about these debates is that everyone forgets where their paychecks are coming from. The viewer experience should be the #1 priority and EVERYONE in the league should be doing everything in their power to make the game more enjoyable to watch so the league continues to exist and new sponsors want come in. Sacrificing the viewer experience to make the game 4% more competitive is so stupid and shows why this league is struggling

I don't remember when it happened - probably the switch to PC, but everyone always knew that CoD wasn't a competitive game, was designed for consoles and controllers, and was run by devs that used to be the trolls you pubstomp against. The point is to make it fun to watch so it stays a league worthy of viewership. We know the devs don't care about any of it. If the players don't want to make the game more engaging for viewers then they are their own worst enemy when it comes to the downfall of the scene.

If we are going to make it more official, having people other than players do it then they might as well be implemented into the official ruleset as bias will be removed and ensuring things are followed will be easier in the official ruleset - obviously limiting how many tactical, trophies can be used is much more challenging but possible with developers help (which we won't get).

Aches is absolutely right. “Casual players” are not going to have their experience ruined by adding a cool down to crouching to stop snaking. If someone is snaking and has cracked movement that would be ruined by a cool down I would argue they are not a casual player. Everyone likes to try hard and play competitively in call of duty but then when you bring up the fact they are trying hard they pretend like they are casually playing.

One point that I was waiting for these guys to make about the GA chat is that it took a Flank episode for them to GA the freaking M4 last year. Gun was an absolute joke and these guys were running 8 ARs on the map. Something as blatantly broken as the M4 took outside involvement to finally get GA'd. I think the size of prize pools and the fragility of the league have contributed to the current state of how things are (win at all cost mindset of a lot of the pros). The current GA system clearly doesn’t work. There’s a need for GA’s to be integrated into the official rules and for dev intervention to address snaking. Must be a better way than GA’s for the entire comp scene being decided by a shady group chat on twitter, where half the decisions either haven’t been tested or don’t seem to make sense. We’ve seen multiple times how the pros backtrack as soon as public opinion puts pressure on certain GA’s, the system is broken

What If instead of blacklisting people who break ga’s from scrims why don’t they blacklist them from off season tournaments? Could even work during the season because you’re threatening some of the best practice they’ll get before the next year starts.
