And losing was, i believe, implied that Lucas pulls the final needle and destroys the world entirely because he lost his battle.

Other tragic backstories: (Spoilers for many games ahead) Samus: Ridley killed her parents at the tender age of 3 right before her eyes, taken in by a race of bird aliens, but forced to endure gruelling experimentation and training to survive on their home planet. Marth: Had his Kingdom overthrown by an evil empire, betrayed by a neighbouring Kingdom who he thought were allies, watched as his sister gave herself up to buy Marth time to escape and has spent years training for the day he gets revenge on all of them. Sheik: Was forced to flee Hyrule as Ganondorf took over and spent 7 years on the run from him until Link would awaken again. I’m not sure if Zelda had to train to become Sheik or was bestowed the Sheikah powers by Impa, but either way, to spend 7 years constantly watching your back must have been rough. Lucina: Her entire world was destroyed by a dark dragon, her father and mother died before her and must have spent years trying to fight the dark forces before Naga sent her and the other children back in time. Shulk: He died alongside his parents, becoming Zanza’s new puppet for his resurrection. He watched as his love interest sacrificed herself, only to be brought back as a machine serving the enemy and to top it all off, he must have seen thousands of visions of his friends dying in the most gruesome of ways and had to work hard to prevent it. Rosalina: She builds a spaceship to help a lost luma find its parents, while hiding the fact her own parents died, leaving her all alone. She became an immortal mother to the Lumas, travelling the cosmos and essentially becoming a space goddess. Cloud: Wanted to become a SOLDIER one day so he could impress Tifa, but failed the exam hard, becoming a regular soldier, too ashamed to go back to Nibilheim and when he does go back, it’s torched by Sephiroth, watching him hurt Tifa, became Hojo’s experiment for four years and to top it all off, he had to watch his best friend Zack die so Cloud could live. The trauma he endured was so bad, his memories were mixed with Zack’s, warping his psyche to unspeakable levels. Corrin: Born to a noble family, but kidnapped by another noble family after they killed his/her father in cold blood. Spent years in an isolated castle, believing his adopted siblings as his own and is then forced to choose his real family or his fake family. So yeah, don’t underestimate Smash Bros backstories. They make other game’s backstories look pleasant.

For Marth, that's only half of his story. In New Mystery, it opens on Marth getting married to Caeda, but the wedding is cut short thanks to Hardin and his army requesting Marth's forces for something. Marth is manipulated for a good chunk of the game, forced to fight people who he would be considering allies against his will. Emperor Hardin, aka "The Dark Emperor", himself was the one orchestrating the entire thing, even though the two were comrades in the War of Shadows (the events of Shadow Dragon). And if that's not enough, he was betrayed by one of his best friends, a knight named Abel, who attacked Marth and stole his Falchion from him. And to top it all off, his sister was almost sacrificed to resurrect Medeus, the very dragon who he and his army had defeated only two years earlier.

Snake: Was manipulated by nearly every faction he came across, and due to being a clone he grows old much earlier, by the time his final game ends he only has six months to live. Almost kills himself to prevent a virus in his body from mutating and becoming deadly to anyone he comes across. Joker: When he defended a woman from a drunk, influential politician, he was instead of accused of assault. His life had been basically ruined, even his parents didn't trust him anymore. Later he's betrayed and almost assassinated. Bowser Jr.: He'll grow up a villain in the Marioverse, which means he's destined to be constantly defeated and never understand what he's doing wrong. Princess Peach, whom he would like as a mother, despises Bowser and maybe Jr. too. Despised by your own mother figure? That is screwed up. Also, as Paper Jam shows, he seems to have no real friends despite (or maybe due to) being a prince. Simon and Richter: Due to being Belmonts, their whole life had been decided since birth: To train tirelessly to defeat Dracula when he resurrected. Simon almost becomes possessed by Dracula in his second game, and Richter was actually taken over by the Dark Lord for a while.

@@cloudy978 I think you're confusing "stabbing Ganon" with "defeating Ganon". Link literally stabbed Ganon in the face at the end of OOT. Sure, it didn't kill him, but it doesn't change the fact that Link stabbed him. An argument could be made about whether or not he actually "defeated" Ganon, since Zelda was the one who finished him off by sealing him away, and the timeline split being based around the fact whether or not OOT Link survived the final battle against Ganon.

While there first atempt to deal with the big scary villain in there way was to talk things out peacefully, after diplomacy failed the next course of action they took was brutal bloody murder. While it made sense I was surprised how good they are at killing people. Also said fluffy bunny has a back story so messed up it makes other characters tragedies look like minor inconviniences.

But that has nothing to do with the quality of the eyes, it is the shape of the head. We have a blindspot too, that's why we cannot see our full noses (they are on our blindspot). This is a little bit more tecnicall, but pterosaurs such as Pterodactylus or Pteranodon (which is usually the genus that gets more "screen time") are not dinosaurs but close cousins, like how cats are not canines despite being relatives and somewhat similar.

@@franklinjoaquinschoenich5964 Yeah, the language was sort of surprising, but it's not really all that bad when you consider that some Disney films in the 90s also had curse words *(and then there's The Incredibles 2)* or some of the Harry Potter books. But yeah, they don't even have to curse, the characters say stuff like "bastard" and "scumbag" all the time, and those aren't particularly PG words. I think everyone in Tazmily said some sort of offensive word at one time, especially when they become brainwashed. The only people who never say words like that were Duster, Flint and Lucas. There was lots of drug references in Mother 3 other than just the mushroom trip. I remember coming across as sign that says "No swimming, no drinking...and swimming while hallucinating is absolutely out of the question!" And there's also that man named Bob who's always hanging around the Yado Inn Bar and hiccups after he talks, making you interpret he's drunk. I think another controversy the game faces is how realistically depicted the death is portrayed and how realistically the characters reacted to it. It's a huge contrast to how light-hearted Earthbound was, so Mother 3 was pretty off-putting to those expecting another light-hearted adventure. And then there's the Magyspies. Itoit himself said Mother 3 was more of an adult game that the last two, hence the more T rated and mature story.

Let’s not forget about Fox! His father, James, was the leader of the original Team Star Fox, alongside two other members: Pigma Dengar and Peppy Hare. Five years after Andross’ exile on Venom, suspicious activity coming from Venom got detected. The general of the Cornerian Army, General Pepper, sent the Team Star Fox to investigate. But when they arrived, Pigma betrayed his two teammates, which led to Andross successfully capturing Peppy and James. Out of the three persons who went to the planet, only one person returned to Corneria, and it was Peppy. (Pigma stayed with Andross, while James went missing, but we’ll get to that later.) He told everything to Pepper, and later told everything to James’ only son, Fox. Determined to revenge his father’s death, Fox left the school to train with his mentor. A few moments later (Idk exactly when he did that, but I know it happened a few times before SF64.), Fox reformed the Team Star Fox with Peppy’s help, and recruited two other longtime friends he knew he could trust… and they were Slippy and Falco. The saddest part is that James might not be dead, we actually never know what happened to him (Although Wolf, Pigma and Andross tell that he’s dead, and Fox himself even says so at the beginning of Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins.) and there’s rumours that he’s still alive, but from what we know… he could be gone. Considering the context of his disappearance, it’s very likely he died protecting Peppy.
