Hi Gabriel, honestly this crappy place has no historycal value. It's old shisha bar dumped years ago. Sunny beach became bigger and bigger every 10-15 years and back in 2000s this area was part of the crowded zone, now its not. It's shame that they leaved it like that.

Bulgaria has surprised me. Being from the UK we tend to think of places like Greece, Spain and its islands, Portugal, Turkey, France, Italy etc as shorter haul summer holiday destinations but your Bulgarian videos have definitely made me think about Bulgaria for a visit. Great work as always, thank you

Old Nessebar is a sacred place from the beginning of time! That is why there are so many churches there. No one can say when civilization first appeared there. The written history of the place starts around sixth century BC, when the Greek colonizers came, but it was already a thracian city at that time! It has always had many temples, that became churches after christianization! So many churches in such a small place is really amazing! You missed some! Also you missed the amphitheater! Marvelous historical site!

Well it depends. They are lots of great things, some that are different from most other places and some stuff that is really bad. But in general I can really recommend to visit us, but to be honest Sunny beach is the last place to go. If you are interested in the lots of history and culture my land can offer. And the best thing is the really interesting places are not really known internationally, so they are much cheaper, the prices for most things in this video are really expensive from my point of view.

I had a feeling when I was writing about Croatia you’d already had a visit Gabriel. Definitely about to check out your journeys I missed there. Love the real, raw and true perspective you give us on your travels. And I appreciate your concerns on the state of the healthcare system Jann. But structured government ran healthcare is not a thought for me. My practice is self-care and preventive care. Plainly don’t trust western medicine, the pharmaceutical paid off doctors and the bandaids they apply to more serious problems that often need to be addressed. So only way I’m seeing any kind of doctor is if I break a bone or something serious happens that I cannot remedy myself with preventative maintenance. Real food, fasting and getting that heart pumping regularly does wonders for the mind, body and soul

In 13 century Nesebar was part of the Bulgarian Empire so the church you have shown is build by the bulgarians, not by the greeks, take a look at the bulgarian medieval history or the european medieval history. In 13 century the Bulgarian Empire was very big and not only Nesebar but most of the Balcan peninsula were part of the bulgarian state.

Nessebar (originally Messembria in Greek) was founded and still inhabited by Greeks until about the beginning of the 20th century. Yes, it belonged to the Bulgarian empire in the 13th century, it went back and forth between Byzantine, Bulgarian and Ottoman rule. In 1900 about 90% of the population was Greek at which time they left with the population exchange. Some remained there which is why many in Nessebar have Greek descent. My grandfather and grandmother were both born and raised in Nessebar until they were about 18 years old when they had to leave and move to Greece along with most of the local population. I am sure many Bulgarians had to leave Greece at the same time and move to Bulgaria in a similar way.

Mesambria Pontica, or Melsambria, was an ancient Thracian city, named after Thracian ruler Menas (or Melsa) and the word "bria"', which means "city"' in Thracian. It was build on today's Nessebar peninsula and with time parts of it went underwater and were discovered by Bulgarian archeologists in the 1960''s and 1970's. Have a nice day!

Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas were (and still technically are) 3 separate resorts. However, due to Sunny Beach's growth, they have merged into one urban area. You basically have Sveti Vlas in the north, Sunny Beah in the middle, and Nessebar in the south. If you book a stay in one of the 3, you can easily go to the other 2.

@@ojosazules8828 Sunny Beach is a place for single people or couples in their 20s. It wasn't designed to be that way, but that is what it turned out to be. Sunny Beach serves an important purpose, and that is it attracts all the partygoers and people who just want to get drunk and have fun. Some Bulgarians haven't gotten the memo yet and bring their kids there which really pissed me off (based on Gabe's last video and all the underage kids you can see there)So yeah, pretty much every other resort is a nice quieter family-friendly place, but that can only happen if you have a place like Sunny Beach that can attract all the people you don't want to deal with and interact with.

If you live permanently in Bulgaria you don't go to Sunny Beach. The place where tourists from UK go !!! We go to south of Burgas to Sozopol or Chernomorets.Few Brits if any go there. Better food.

I stayed in Nessebar about 10 years ago and hadn't even heard about Sunny Beach at that point. Then, it seemed to be a resort primarily for Russians. However, they used to come to Nessebar for a day trip. There was a small miniature railway between the two - also used by adults. I realised Sunny Beach was not for me, but as you say, it's either your idea of heaven or hell. In my case, it was the latter and I never went.

Blame yourself for that. It was never a resort for Russians. You can literally walk to Sunny Beach from Nessebar. That was bwfore they practically fused. Sunny Beach is visible from Nessebar

Sunny beach can be a bit rough on the late evening. Usually just a few drunk tourists. Alcohol is cheap and easy.

Sunny beach is a tacky place - it's where most foreigners come, get drunk, do drugs and pay for "love". A hub for depravity if you will. The guys last video you saw were all foreigners. You probably noticed there are hardly any Bulgarians in Sunny Beach and the prices show it.

Sunny Beach is disliked even by the locals.Overcrowded and overpriced place where mainly come drunk english men, some of them are drunk to the point of unconsciousness even as they get off at the airport. If you want a budged vacation, go to Kiten/Primorsko.

I went to sunny beach in 1999 and honestly loved it. Food was amazing, the beach was so clean, weather fab, and it was very inexpensive. Now I’m sure it has changed a lot since then but I would love to go back xx
