*Those are the Spanish Towers, ordered to be built in the 1580's to prevent attacks from the Barbary Corsairs! There are over 100 all along the coast of Sardinia. I have a video in the works that dives into the history extensively. It will be out soon! Also, the fighter jets are from the US base on Sardinia. There's a whole story there too, for another time. They basically used Sardinia as a testing ground for all sorts of controversial weapons,*

Hi Gabriel, a short intense stay for a few days I know you miss Greek Islands but the time you spent in Sicily and Sardina were enjoyable to see at some point you will be able to go back to Greek Islands you share some amazing experiences. In a lot of ways, the Sicily and Sardina were like being on the Greek islands if you really look at its food, and relaxing beaches, archaeological sites.

In just three days you covered some of the most outstanding aspects of Sardinia- the Nuragic culture and the wild and beautiful beaches with cristal clear water. Hats off! Despite the beautiful beaches Sardinia used to be not very touristy in most parts. Unfortunately the 90ies music blaring out from that beach bar and the beach bar in itself are signals that it will not remain that way for much longer.

That cathedral is amazing in Oristano. The town not only looks well maintained and even a nice place to live so close to those beaches, I even noticed a dog friendly beach on the map, the best beaches are always a hike. I can't wait to see where you are going next, but I remember when I was travelling Europe for close to six months before the EU so never stayed in one country that long for my visa to expire but it does make one nervous about living somewhere without permanent residency with that new rule.

Gabriel, I haven't yet been to Sardinia but have looked into where the most scenic parts are. They seem to be in the northern half of the island and especially so in the east where there are more spectacular cliffs and mountains with the white sand and aqua colored water.

Hi Gabe, always enjoy your videos. You were interested in knowing when Spain controlled Sardinia. According to Wikipedia, Spain ruled Sardinia on and off from around 1492 to 1718. Sardinia changed hands several times among other European powers. I guess that Spain also controlled Milan, Rome and Sicily. Looking forward to your next adventure. Have you ever thought of visiting Chile, Argentina or Uruguay? I understand that these countries are worthwhile seeing.

Italy is quite a mixed bag concerning public transportation: it really depends on the administrative Region and even on individual municipalities. My suggestion is to always consider car rental in Italy, since it is a Nation made by an impressive density of things to visit and discover and might be more suited for a more granular style of travelling
@Mongoose-ct6us Жыл бұрын
@@PaladinDemoncard I was asking specifically about Sardinia. In Sicily I did not need a car. So if I don't need a car in Sardinia then I will gladly visit. If a car is needed then I will visit a different Italian island instead where I don't need a car. I prefer to use public transportation when I travel. The great thing about Sicily is I didn't need a car. Sicily had excellent trains to explore many different cities and towns.

You must understand, Gabriel, that the whole Mediterranean is a Greek sea, everywhere you see ancient Greek theaters, Greek monuments, inscriptions written in Greek (when people don't speak, the stones themselves speak and this is the biggest proof)), Greek was once spoken throughout the Mediterranean. Greek was their common language for many years
@FedeDiver1 Жыл бұрын
Please, stop with this thing that everything is Greek, is ridiculous and inaccurate...there has been so many other civilization before and after equally remarkable, and Sardinia itself was never Greek

@FedeDiver1 Жыл бұрын
@@AlwaysAwesome001 no no, I subscribe what I said, the Greeks never ruled the Mediterranean, they, of course, gave a huge cultural contribution to the world, but the Mediterranean is far from being only Greek...the Roman ruled it, then the Ottomans came, then the Arabs, and then before the fenicians and Egyptians, which all left marks to what Greece is today...never was an Empire in the past
