Hi Rob, We manufacture the Gabions in our factory in Johannesburg, South Africa, this video was produced from a Flash animation we did in 2000, my son Clinton Cheyne does them for us now, as he is an animator.(www.animationvikings.com) The soundtrack comes from KZbin when we posted the video, they have free audio that can be used for this purpose. rgds Louis Cheyne, [e-mail].

Hi there, thanks for your interest, a gabion wall is a free draining system with 35% voids. So no special drainage system is required only a 200/m2 geo textile at all soil and gabion interfaces to prevent the loss of a sandy backfill type of soil. With concrete and brick walls drainage weep holes are required for release of excessive water pressure, not with the gabion system. Hope this helps. 😀
