So, let's get it! According to one of many sources, Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, best known for his role in My Fault, has been arrested during the Venice Film Festival on alleged sexual assault charges. Guevara had an active international warrant out on him for an alleged sexual assault of a family member in France in 2015, while he was still underage, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The Venice court of appeals will now have to rule on Guevara’s case before he can be extradited. The actor is currently in protective custody. Exact charges against him are not known. Although the case was initially considered an alleged sexual abuse, the presentation of new facts to a judge during a quick trial this Monday in Venice led to the accusation being reformulated. As reported by 20minutos.es, the worst-case scenario would be a prison sentence. During today’s trial, a request for the actor to be extradited to France was denied by the judge. Guevara was subsequently allowed to return to Spain to continue with his professional work commitments. According to sources of the news outlet, Guevara maintains his innocence. He claimed that the incident was the result of family arguments relating to a large inheritance that was left to him and his mother. His legal representative suggested that the accusation against his client was down to the success of his starring as Nick Leister in the Amazon Prime Video original film My Fault. He would not give in to economic or moral blackmail they insisted. By the way, his My Fault co-star, Nicole Wallace, gives him all possible moral support. Nicole initially did not believe the charge brought against Gabriel and is completely confident in his innocence. Gabriel's friend Brian also announced on his channel during a live broadcast that Gabriel is officially free. Gabriel's lawyer later added that Gabriel's arrest related to a case that had already been settled in Spain, so Gabriel was officially innocent and was cleared of that.
