Gabriel Henrique is an incomparable and admirable vocal phenomenon. He sings with extreme talent. Unbelievable, two days before he was hospitalized with tonsillitis taking intravenous antibiotics. Still, he put on an impeccable show.I keep imagining the emotional state of a boy who leaves the interior of his country, to a strange and cold country, without ever having sung in front of a symphony orchestra or an audience passionate about operatic singing.

Miguel l just listened to gabriel on another reaction before he had a infection.I could tell the difference this one i am ceetain is more nasal i am sure i hear it and he is perfect even though he must have felt unwell.very brave dedicated singer. Having said that i think your reaction ls sweet very into it. I Love the way you play it again for shere enjoyment you share with us 100 times a night is not enough when its so uplifting. Bea x

In this of his performance especially when he sings in the second chorus part he try to escape from Mariah Carey's way to sing. And he is success to do. Even I can say this is more far better. He sings with his own way. About his whistle I can say that Gabriel whistle is a little bit better than Mariah. He is so effortless to do. While Mariah always close one of her ear by her finger to control the result of her whistle and Gabriel not. It seems that he is not a human, he is stranger creature from another planet 😀

Ola Miguel, como vai? Essa versão ficou lindissima e olha que ele estava se recuperando de uma infecção na garganta, ficou dois dias tomando antibiotico intravenoso, os ensaios ele fez com a garganta inflamada e com febre mas graças a Deus deu tudo certo e no final (não aparece nesse video) ele foi ovacionado e aplaudido de pé pela orquesta e pelo público. Imagina o orgulho dos pais dele que estavam na plateia? Nós amamos esse garoto ❤ Tem mais vídeos desse conserto no canal da #procred. Reage a eles também 😊 Um grande abraço meu amigo ❤

Two comments. First off, he sounded very nasally, which can be attributed to him being previously sick. Secondly, O Holy Night is not a song to go all out Diva on with all of the runs, riffs, and whistle notes. It sounded like he was trying to take the spotlight away from the meaning of the song and put it on himself. Somewhat disrespectful. I wish he would develop his voice so he doesn't have to resort to the Diva embellishments. Not a Hater, Just my opinion.

Not everyone with a different opinion is a hater, feel free to express yours! And yes, he was sick in the days before, and even though he hadn't fully recovered, he showed up and gifted us with that performance!! Everyone will like the way he chose to interpret the song? No! What matters is his vision in that interpretation and what he wanted to convey. In my modest opinion, of course! I also loved a completely different interpretation of the same song. I have not heard Dan Vasc before. Even though there were metal embellishments to his version, I sensed he had a respect and reverence to the song. I didn't get that with Gabriel's version. I won't be listening to either version again. I neglected one other comment in my original post. Gabriel's version did not sound good with symphony orchestra.
