Gabriela Kaufmann | Klezmer | Improvisationen für Bassklarinette

Sie kommt aus der Klassik, entdeckte aber schon bald ihre unbändige Leidenschaft für die Klezmer Musik. Diese ursprünglich aus dem jiddischsprachigen Osteuropa stammende Musikrichtung zeremonieller Volksweisen führt die Klarinettistin Gabriela Kaufmann in bester amerikanischer Tradition mit stilistischen Elementen der Neuen Musik bis hin zum Jazz fort. Solistisch, in Ensembles unterschiedlichster Besetzungen - so mit dem von ihr gegründeten, preisgekrönten Trio „Klezmers Techter“ - oder internationalen Workshops gemeinsam mit Giora Feidman ist sie auf den Bühnen der Welt zu Hause. Hier spielt Gabriela Kaufmann Improvisationen für Bassklarinette: spontan, authentisch, live in der inspirierenden Location der ehemaligen Spinnerei Herding - dem zukünftigen Kulturquartier zwischen Bocholter Aa und Industriestraße - kubaai. There is no electronic reverb - it's the original sound, only amplified by the room acoustics of the former factory hall.
