Chris’ post match interview shows what’s great spirits and mental fortitude she had.

I remember that before the match started Sabatini and her coach said she would win. They didn't see the Mandlikova Evert match at Wimbledon from the year before.

Chrissie's lobs are CRAZY GOOD! She had at least the best lobs, drop shots, and two-handed backhand in all of womenshistory!

It takes a lot more than hundreds and hundreds of French men, and women to intimidate or bully Chris Evert on a tennis court.

It took Chris 3 years to be number one. Martina 6 yrs before reaching it for the first time and hold that for the year (1979)

Is there any worse crowd than the French?

Back then the Italians in Rome were considered by many to be the most partisan and obnoxious in their partisanship.

She never really had a two handed backhand either i noticed. She sorta takes it back with two then hits the ball with one and the one handed slice is odd.

@@andrews6341 Which point? Evert would hit a one hander very rarely-only when she had to. I read that she would practice a one hander sometimes-and that she beat Burt Reynolds playing left-handed.
