I got tired of Steffi winning everything. With American tennis down this year, Gabby was one I rooted for. Her one handed backhand and lethal serve to the Ad side was a big part of her success.

Sabatini is one year older than me. Had a huge crush on her growing up. As a woman, she became even MORE BEAUTIFUL. The most beautiful tennis player to ever play! And loved her big topspin game & power. Too bad she retired early, i think around same age as Borg (around 25)?

Gaby served better here than she did in the 1991 final. I wish her coaches didn’t continually meddle with her service motion and just stuck to fundamentals. She would have been more consistent

Problem with the 91 final is that people usually only watch the famous last games in which Sabatini's serve indeed was not good. Her serve had generally a tendency to break down in crunch time. But for two and a half sets her serve was quite good. Same as in her 11 wins over Steffi Graf. It is a myth that Gaby had an especially weak serve.
