I was 9, maybe 10 when this came out and I was visiting family in Mexico. I didn't have cable where I lived, but they did and I LOVED watching MTV. This song came out along with Jamicorauai and some others. All of which I hated backed then. But now at 31 I can really appreciate this simple, but humble song

My aunt grabbed the gun and stood in front of the door about 15 feet away waiting for him to bust it down and she would going to end his crap that night but for some reason he stopped and ran away like he could feel she had a gun or something. This was early before he became the "night stalker" she saw his face through window and later said that was him. I don't remember it but my mom does I was very young toddler age. I've said this before and I'll say it again: this song is a peaceful summer evening translated into musical notes. I'm sitting in my bedroom as I type this with evening falling on a day in midspring. It was nice in the afternoon but it's now a bit too cool to have the windows open. Nonetheless, as I listened to this song for the umpteenth time, I felt a warm, lazy breeze float past me while fireflies bobbed around in it like boats on a lake. I am an old metal head and love all manner of loud, angry music but somehow, over 20 years later, this is just about the only song that can elicit a strong emotional reaction in me and draw out my most over the top prose when describing it.

Regional department stores that were around for over 100 years gone, 27 airlines down to 6, traditions that were cherished gone. Worldwide governments have become more corrupt than could ever have imagined. Christian values our countries were founded on have been tossed. People dress like slobs and have no concern for their fellow man or national pride. Give them their phones, tablets and social media and they are happy. So sad.

Remember being in a tent in my backyard with a little radio and headphones. Two in the morning, hoping like hell that my radio request would be played. It was. I was hopelessly in love with someone I knew even then that I could never have. She probably never heard the dedication. About twenty-two years later, and we're still friends, we still talk, and while she doesn't know it, I associate this cheesy, romantic little song with her. Always have, always will.

This song. I was 14 years old and we went with a department of our school to the Ardennen in Belgium for a fieldtrip for a few days. On the last day we went to a small bar with a dancefloor on top of a hill. When this song came on, and especially at the 2.00 minute mark of the song everybody went crazy on the dancefloor. I wish we realized at that time how precious this moment would be; a moment in our life without worries, work, bills and stress..while we were young, careless, having fun and having the time of our lives. What a beautiful time to remember. Time flies people...

It was 15 years or more when I lost my dad and 40 days later had my husband also very sick at the int. care. Endless nights in the car, returning from hospital, was listening to this melody, Crying silently and crossing the highways. This song was my courage to life and I made it. We made it and got a great family with kids and love and everything we asked for! Just kiss me and am strong!

When I was 6 my grandpa picked me up from school and this song played in the car. He gave me a hard time and said ‘don’t you ever kiss boys! Don’t ever get married!’ I was so embarrassed but I always treasured my time with him. He died a little over a year later of cancer at the age of 47. I’m 26 now and when this song comes on the radio all the time I can’t help but cry with this memory. Every time I feel lonely and defeated I hear this song! He’s speaking to me and here I am a single mom, never married and the thought of any relationship now scares me. Crazy how certain things come full circle in our lives in weird, lyrical ways..
