I had goosebumps when she translated the lyrics of one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Luigi Tenco was an extraordinary songwriter still he doesn't receive enough credit in italy. grazie gabrielle!

Great concert ruined by a terrible sound production !! .......the bass and drums are barely audible in spots . The piano volume is depressed in spots . Are these sound persons musicians ? I doubt it. !! Gabrielle is just brilliant and doesn't deserve a sound production of this inferior quality ! . Excellent apart from the sound production. 8:51

Good lord, no. This is just dead in the water. This level of self-involvement is not good for women in jazz. Also, consider singing the correct lyrics as the composer/lyricist intended.
@tomchojnowski9215 Жыл бұрын
With your philosophy we would never have had people like Billie Holiday and Chet Baker. She is one of the greatest song interpreters I’ve ever heard even if she changes the lyrics. That’s what jazz is all about. Wouldn’t it be boring if Bird and Oscar Peterson just played the melody?
@thetrainstoppedhere6753 Жыл бұрын
@@tomchojnowski9215 You're not serious, are you? You're comparing Billie Holiday and Chet Baker, Bird, and Oscar Peterson, true monsters of jazz, to this music? It doesn't swing, at all, it's incredibly self-involved, and the interpretation is average at best. I return to self-involvement. Come on, man. It's lovely to be so generous, but where are we if we can't be a little real?
@tomchojnowski9215 Жыл бұрын
@@thetrainstoppedhere6753 I’m not comparing her to the masters I’m just saying self involvement is a way to get into the lyrics of the song so you could convey the song better, changing words is no big deal, just about every singer or instrumental performer has changed the words or melody to a song . Where did I say she was like Chet or Billie ?? If you don’t allow the performer to self indulge into to song you would never have Chet , Billie , Ella , Louis ect.
