There are many black women Gabrielle's age who don't look that good. It doesn't have to be about being black. Both women take very good care of themselves and both are aging incredibly well. This 'black don't crack' comment makes no sense. There are lots of older women of all races who look great for their age. It just depends on your genes, combined with how well you look after yourself. Both women look amazing and yes, I know Gabrielle is older.

She's said the majority of the scripts she got after that was pretty much different versions of the Dark Angel character.
