Wow my friend ,how awesome to watch your work of art come to life ,you are so special kind and caring ,and I thank you for bringing it into my home ,its the evening here in Aotearoa after a really hot day ,I have the doors open to listen to all the bird song , such perfect timing for your tutorial , today I have been playing with water colour and ink with flowers and leaves ,plus finishing a pencil portrait of my late father in law,who died in an accident many years ago ,their mother had to raise 13 children on her own ,they all did well in life ,the portrait is in honor of him ,the younger siblings don't remember him so this portrait will be given to them next year at a family reunion and their oldest brothers 80th birthday, portraits are not my usual art ,so difficult to get a likeness,but it's okay ,arohanui to you ,thanks for lifting my spirits and inspiring me ,arohanui.

I always love getting home from work, but Wednesdays are especially exciting because there's a new GAC video! It's been a challenging Autumn in many ways; your videos are definitely bright moments. As always, this painting is exciting and inspiring. AND I so appreciate and enjoy having The Treasures Within as a reminder that good things are always present, even when they can't be seen. I hope this Thanksgiving finds you well!

Happy belated Thanksgiving Gabrielle, to you and your family! I hope you had a nice celebration. I love Thanksgiving foods (and desserts 😉)! 😋 I heard your special little helpers' footsteps 🐾 so I had to rewind and take a closer look to see your sweetheart Garou! He is so adorable!! 🥰 I really love the cardboard you used for texture! Until recently I never paid attention to the textures in random items. It's so funny how I get excited now, if I get some great boxes or packaging. 😂 My husband will now ask me, if he is getting rid of something, if it is something I may want to use in my projects. I guess I trained him well! 😉 😂 I really love the painting this week! I love the colors and the textures, and of course the gold! I can imagine how beautiful it is in person!! 😍 I am thrilled for you and the success of your new website! 🥳 It must be amazing (rewarding) to know that people love and want to purchase your paintings!! 🤩 It sounds like you've got some fun things planned for the upcoming year! How have you been feeling? Have you gotten any snow yet? We got our first snow this morning, a whole two inches! 😂 People here can't drive in it, so I'm glad it wasn't a big first snow. Snow is so beautiful, I just love the way it sparkles! I'd like to get one big snow day this winter! 😊 Have a blessed week my friend. Sending hugs from very cold St. Louis! Please give your little helper hugs from me too. Love you! ❤️ 🤗

Love love *love* this... everything about it 👍 brilliant and SO well done 🙂 Consideration: once you get color down in the cracks of the crackle paste, spray a workable fixative over it which will give the next watercolor layers something to stick to.
@gabrielleannacormierartКүн бұрын
Hi Zander 🤗 Thank you so much for both your kind words and for the suggestion! I actually wondered if a workable fixative could help and I’ll definitely give it a go next time. ☺️ So many ways to make things work! Love it! Wishing you an awesome day 🤗💕

Hi Rosie 💕🤗 I love your ability to look at abstract art and capture so much! As I was creating this painting I was thinking about the self merging with community and how we are all more than just a sum of our parts. Abstract expression speaks to me a lot too! Thank you so much for your kindness and for making the time to connect with me sweet friend 🥰

I like how the watercolor falls between the cracks of the crackle paste and really emphasizes the cracking. I’m going to try adhering watercolor paper to cradle board with modeling paste. My board is 10”x10”. I noticed the paste doesn’t adhere to places where the application is too thin. Do you put weight on it while it dries to help it adhere evenly? I tried gesso and mod podge but I like the paste for watercolor because it doesn’t seem to mess with the paint like the other two.
@gabrielleannacormierartКүн бұрын
Hi Morgan ❤️🤗 Thank you so much for your kindness! You’re absolutely right that if there is not enough modeling, the paper won’t adhere well because both the board and the paper are absorbant. So, a thicker application works best. Usually, using a brayer over the paper helps to press it down onto the board and remove any air pockets that could prevent proper adhesion. I find the edges and corners of the paper to be especially important to press down. Once I’ve used the brayer or a plastic card to press the paper onto the board, it’s not usually necessary to weight it down. I think it will also dry and set faster with more open exposure to air. I hope this helps ☺️
