María Gabriela Moreno Bonilla (born 16 December 1981 in Guatemala City, Guatemala), professionally known as Gaby Moreno, is a Guatemalan singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her music ranges from blues, jazz, soul, to R&B. Moreno sings both in English and Spanish. In 2013, Moreno won the Best New Artist Latin Grammy.
She became known to broader audiences in Latin America after recording a song with Ricardo Arjona in 2011, called "Fuiste Tú". In 2013, she recorded covers of the popular songs "Kiss of Fire" and "The Weed Smoker's Dream" with Hugh Laurie for his album, Didn't It Rain.

She's great , a star is born. I am amazed that after listening to her for about 2 months my new favorite singer is a woman whose music I can only understand about half of due not speaking Spanish. She's got it all, a great voice, excellent songwriting, nice touch on guitar , great stage presence and a personality that makes her impossible not to like. She'll be around for a long time to come, Gaby Moreno is no flash in the pan.

I've seen her several times and she's amazing! She can do it all. If you don't already, you should check out Chris Thile's "Live from Here" radio broadcast on public radio every Saturday night. She's a regular guest artist performing her own music and singing back up.

I wish there were profesional recordings of the extraordinary songs she did on the latter half of the tours with Hugh Laurie, like "What Kind of Man Are You?", "My Journey to the Sky" and so on. Hugh should have recorded/put out some third album of all that stuff.
