Hey man - now that was fun!!! 😁😁. I know that you struggle with remembering names, but I'm hoping at least Oreo on keys (yes like the cookie) will stick with you now! I knew that you would love the live show, but I was surprised the song itself scored so highly - it's got the energy you like, but thought would suffer a little for simplicity. My guess was around an 8 for the song and 10 for the show. Yes it's the last song of the show or at least part of the encore (you can tell with the tour T shirts often being put on for the encore) and yes this them at highest end of energy - however their shows are highly energetic throughout - for example the prior reaction you did to Tamashii was about halfway through the show. The band's stated genre is "entertainment" From 2013-2018 the band had dancers in lieu of a "frontperson" as the lead vocals were with Hana (drums) and Oreo (for the most part!) stuck behind their instruments. The band themselves are still so energetic that I don't think its that required but still added something for sure. In 2018 the last dancer left and Angie (pink hair - you thought of frontperson previously) replaced them as a mic performer. The dancers mostly stuck to choreography, but would occasionally hop on a mic as seen here, or a few songs where they'd play too. You've enjoyed Koga (bass) in all the GS and Doll$boxx reactions I believe - it's common in GS that bass is high in the mix and guitar (Tomo-zo) lower down for a more even sound between Bass, Guitar and Keys rather than Guitar dominating as standard.

About 'Stage Movement'. When Angelina 1/3 stepped up from 'hype girl' to current 'vocalist/front-woman', she asked Hana (drums) if she needed to stop moving so much. Hana's answer was "The moment you stop moving is the moment you start to die!" THAT is Gacharic Spin mindset in a sentence - and always has been. BTW it is Ga char (like charred meat) ic Spin. Bizarrely everything he normally raves about is there on screen to watch and hear but even his facial expressions are off and he gives a very average review and score. Great reaction and I fully agree with the score. 🙂 This is where Gacharic Spin really shines; high energy live performances with tons of interaction. I do belive this was one of, if not the, last song of the encore. As mentioned by others, the two dancers are there to hype the crowd. I first came across this band in late 2015 when I stumbled across the freshly released trailer for the DVD this performance was taken from when the KZbin autoplay feature queued it up for me randomly while I was doing some chores and playing some bass guitar related videos in the background. I was absolutely hooked by the bass playing and astonishingly tight pocket the drummer and bassist had going, and stunned by the energy even in those few minutes of stitched together clips and immediately ordered the DVD. After receiving and watching the DVD I realised this is one of the greatest bands ever; superb musicianship, boundless energy, fantastic song-writing, and best of all: FUN. They won't be to everyone's taste. Some people won't like that they write catchy fun songs, some people might not like how wildly they oscillate between genres, others might prefer their music more "serious", some might not like the effects they use on some songs. Nothing wrong with not liking them for any of those reasons of course, personal taste is personal taste, but I enjoy eclectic and positive music, as well as music that tickles my interest as a musician who wants to hear great playing, without descending into the dreary self-indulgence that can so often blight highly accomplished players. Plus they just have the most fun and energetic live shows of any band, and I go to a lot of live shows! In short, my favourite band, I've listened to them pretty much daily for over 7 years now, long may it continue.

You pretty much said exactly how I feel about Gacharic Spin since they have become one of my favorite bands but only in the last year. Actually one of the things I like most about them is that they are doing what they want to do and are not following a trend. I love that they oscillate between genres and sometimes have a combination of genres in a single song that only GS can put into their music blender and make it work. Not only are they "seriously" talented musicians but even underneath their "pop" sounding songs are the time signature changes, odd chord structures and the willingness to push the boundaries that I like. How many bands would be willing to write a song like "I wish I"?

I saw the 2019 live DVD several times and still, when they move into the finale (before the encores), I keep thinking: Right, that's the one they gone out on because how do you top that? - And then they top it with another. And another. They're Gacharic Spin. They do that. Don't know about this one, though. Judging by the shirts, it's probably an encore, and I agree that it's hard to imagine them going any further. Also, the bassist F Chopper. also does the bass swing at times and sometimes with the guitarist in tandem. This band doesn't know the term "moderation".

A good tell to see if a song is at the end of a show for Japanese bands is that a lot of them tend to wear the same t-shirts for encores. They go off-stage, change and come back on for one or multiple encores. You can't say for sure if it's the last song because there can be multiple encores, but generally when you see all the members wearing the same shirt (if it's a band-shirt clearly for the concert) it's most likely an encore. Not all bands do this obviously, but I have seen a lot of them that do.

I have also noticed that a lot of Japanese bands that I have heard have at least very competent bass players, but a lot of the time they have very good to great bass players. I don't know if it's true, but I have seen commenters say that Japanese rock is based on Jazz instead of Blues like it is in the West. Jazz is obviously also based on Blues, but bass playing is very emphasized in Jazz, so it would make sense that their rock and even pop is also bass driven a lot of the time.

One note about the keyboard player who is named Oreo . This song is from the first year when the band had a lead singer named armmy and no keyboards. Oreo was brought in after Oreo left so the keyboards are something of a add on…Oreo feels free to wander around, join the dancers(who are full time dancers) or just stand on her equipment. The drummer who is the lead singer also writes almost all of the songs(except this one) made the keyboards an integral part of the song right the start starting year two and continuing up to now, year Thirteen…

HANABIE new songs PARDON ME.... Garcharic Spin is "BABYMETAL" that play their music instruments and dance on stage.....🤣🤣🤣
@MaartenT Жыл бұрын
No, not really. Babymetal is basically an alternative idol band (or metal band mixed with idol dancers/singers). The musicians in Babymetal are not really considered to be part of the band I believe, I might be wrong since they are not my expertise at all. I also apologize to Babymetal fans that might have a problem with me describing them that way, but I don't mean that at all as in insult. Please feel free to help me understand better. Gacharic Spin is a rock band that mixes a lot of different genres (including electronica, pop, funk, some small bits of metal or even hiphop every know and then) and play their own instruments. That said, a lot of their earlier stuff is relatively poppy and I can see how them + the dancers remind you of Babymetal though. The dancers were added because they lost their main singer and their singers were "stuck" behind the drums and keyboards for most of the shows. The dancers for this one are Arisa and Mai. But they have had a third dancer when Arisa quit to focus on school. Nowadays their performer (dancer + singer) is also one of the main vocalists a lot of the times, so it looks a little less like the dancers with Babymetal.
@adamyoung9132 Жыл бұрын
@@MaartenT yeah, Babymetal is not alt idol. Alt idol goes against the traditional idol culture whereas Babymetal is a product of the traditional idol culture. BiSH is an example of an alt idol group. Alt idol groups don't necessarily have to incorporate metal into their songs.

@@adamyoung9132 Thanks. Like I said, I know Babymetal a little, most of what I have heard is not really for me but I have respect for what they do. But one thing is for sure, most of the more J-pop or Idol stuff is completely out of my wheelhouse and I knew I was probably making a mistake on that. I know Babymetal is not 100% J-pop or Idol, it's basically a mix of that with metal. I do also still have to watch my Blu-rays I bought to give them an honest chance even though it's probably not going to win me over, but who knows. What I do know for sure is that Gacharic Spin and Babymetal have very little in common even though the bassist and drummer of Gacharic Spin went to the same music school as one of the musicians of Babymetal's Kami Band (I forgot which one) and they do know each other.

@MaartenT Жыл бұрын
@@Chillipimmel I am not going to try to make you change your mind on the music, taste is very personal and there is nothing wrong with you not liking a band I do like. I am sorry for this one, it's going to be a long one, but I hope you can find the time to go through it because I came from a similar viewpoint to yours a couple of years ago. I mainly listened to metal for the last 20 years or so (as far as guitar based music at least) and most of it harsher styles like black metal, some death metal and things like that for probably over 10 years (and I still love those genres). A little over 2 years ago I still scoffed at the reactions to the Japanese female bands and refused to listen to them because I was comparing them to the one thing I had heard once before, Babymetal, which I really didn't like. But I gave one or two of them a chance after a while and while it wasn't 100% for me, I saw that they were very good musicians that knew what they were doing. One of them I somewhat liked with the exception of the more poppy chorus (Band-Maid), the other one was not really for me because I wasn't a huge Power Metal fan (Lovebites) and I wasn't a huge fan of the vocals and melodies in the chorus. I have always been relatively open minded as far as music goes though, so after a while I decided to give them more of a chance in the hope of trying to find stuff I would enjoy and maybe try to understand why people seemed to enjoy them. I originally stopped listening to anything more popular when I started to get into metal because I hated the sound back then and probably because I was a teenager, I'm not really sure why I basically stopped listening to most rock back then. Hell, while I like Tool quite a bit, I didn't really consider them metal even back then and I am still somewhat of a snob if it comes to dumb labels like that (I'm trying to rectify that because it really doesn't really matter, but it's still somewhat deeply ingrained in me). So while I liked a good chunk of Band-Maid's music after a while (typically minus the choruses), I didn't really like Gacharic Spin either and found them too poppy so I ignored them until I heard one of their newer songs (MindSet) that I immediately loved because of the funky bass. One of the reactors I watched a lot streamed some of their tracks live (because of requests by people like Home Gnome and 2abug) and that made me see how fun they can be to watch and they grew on me over time. - Do I think they are for everyone? Absolutely not, I can totally understand why anyone wouldn't like them and there is nothing wrong with that. - Does this have anything to do with the scores Tool gets? No, it doesn't. They can all get good scores and it doesn't diminish any of them, different people have different tastes. There is a lot of music that I love that most people won't like. A good example is the Ved Buens Ende song that David hated and I can totally see why. It took me probably close to 15 years to click with that band and I now really like that album, but it's difficult music to get into without a doubt. Tool makes great music, I own all their full albums on CD, next to the 1000+ other CD's I own. There are a lot of different genres in my collection though. A lot of it is metal (in a lot of different metal subgenres), Punk, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ambient, some different genres of Rock including classic Rock, Drum & Bass, IDM (a specific form of electronica), Modern Classical, Reggae and Ska, small amounts of Pop, Neofolk, small amounts of Funk, Psychedelic Electronica, a ton of video games soundtracks in a lot of different genres, ... and I'm sure I am forgetting some. I'm also sure a lot of that won't be your thing, but me liking other stuff doesn't make my enjoyment for Tool any less valid. I have always tried to be as open minded as possible even though there is plenty of music that I don't really like either. I might like some of it in 10 - 20 years time though because I genuinely enjoy the feeling when a new style of music finally clicks. It's also my believe that "bad" music doesn't exist. There is plenty of music that I don't like, but music is an artform to me and as long as the artist enjoys their music, it did it's job. There are bound to be people that enjoy any type of music, so it's OK if I don't like it. It won't take away from any of the bands that I do like. As far as Gacharic Spin goes: I can tell you from experience that Gacharic Spin is nothing like Babymetal. I am not the biggest Babymetal fan either personally and while it's obviously your choice to write all Japanese female music off because of them, I am happy that I stopped doing that and at least checked out what that country has to offer. I am only scratching the surface over close of 2 years now, but I am super happy that I did because I was somewhat stuck listening to mainly the same Metal genres for years and it honestly lit a fire under my interest in music again. I do think the outfits some of them tend to wear is what will make it difficult for them to break out outside of Japan because Western people tend to look down on that, but the main click I made with those outfits (also for Band-Maid) is that I listened to black metal and you can not imagine what dumb costumes some of those artists wear. And to give some credit to David on this one, there are so many well known bands that dress is costumes, from Kiss, to Slipknot, Gwar, ... There are basically too much to name. I think it's a non-argument. So sorry for this long one, it's just something I am just really passionate about music as you can see. Btw, I am 38 years old. I don't know your age, but you are never too old to find new music.
