Thomas Kelly's hymn, “Stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” (Isaiah 53:4), number 1116 in Gadsby's Hymns. Played to the tune 'Irving', Psalter 240. William Gadsby (1773-1844) was a Strict and Particular Baptist pastor in Manchester, England. His compilation of hymns was first published in 1838. Since then, a number of supplements have been added, including hymns compiled by J.C. Philpot.

Friends, through fear, his cause disowning,
Foes insulting his distress.
Many hands were raised to wound him,
None would interpose to save,
But the awful stroke that found him,
Was the stroke that justice gave.
