I would love to see more on location videos, or if you could share more of ”standard lighting setups” for different scenarios, when to use what light, and where to place it etc

I've had this light for a few months now (thanks to your coverage really selling me on it), I added three diffusers from Brooklyn Soft Lights (Magic Cloth, Unbleached and Bleached Muz.) Fantastic additions, really worth checking them out. They do everything made to order, with really great quality. Just awesome stuff.

Interesting to see your solutions to make the godox easier to use. Was just using the godox 600 on a feature film the last few weeks and the mounting point was really awkward for doing fine adjustments. We were using an avenger junior boom on a Matthews panel stand and it did the job well, but the boom did require a lot of counterweight. I must have a look at that kudo adjustable head you mentioned. A fantastically useful light fixture, especially if I can iron out some of the awkward mounting issues like you have.

Love your ideas for how to make work life with big LED panels more manageable. I don’t own a lot of gear but I’m always trying to find ways to make work life more efficient. I day play on a lot of TV here in “TV Land” (Los Angeles/Hollywood), and everything we do, we usually try to works off carts and wheels as much as possible. Limit cases on TV shows cause when you have to move from stage to stage or Stage to truck, you have to be efficient. Love your videos, even the short ones. Also maybe you could try one of those folding fames that don’t come apart where you can leave the panel on it. Not sure if it would be able to fold with it though… 🤔.

I was really hoping this was going to be one of the new RGB versions of these godox light mats. The new F800 and F600 are 4x4 and 4x2 from what I've seen in one video that came out of NAB.

Two things that have kept me from going in a similar route with my F600bi. 1: I find it's more advantageous keeping the center junior mount for booming over-head with a menace arm, as the center of gravity is more evenly distributed at the connection point. 2. The stock frame weigh's considerably less than a custom frame solution I've been able to come up with. What is the weight difference between your custom frame and the stock frame supplied by Godox?
@crwndblessed11307 ай бұрын
Do you think it would be wise to just have a custom square frame made that was lightweight but then having a metal flip flop pin made? Would it be solid enough or the size of the pin may be too small for the frame's weight despite being metal? This solution you have could be great for those new Infinimats as well
@gaffergear7 ай бұрын
Maybe even the option for multiple flip flop or screw in pins for rigging! Just note if you have the light flat overhead, it is an absolute load of weight levering on the pin connection points.
@crwndblessed11307 ай бұрын
@@gaffergear what I was hoping I could do as an option to help with the weight was potentially have a bar go along the centre of the frame as well. That way the flip flop pin could be centred if I was rigging it overhead and then I could use a drop down alongside a grip head to mount it.

@@gaffergear That’s very reasonable. Thanks for the info. And looking forward to your review of the Aputure 20x20 Infinimat. 😆 Hard to believe they rolled out a standard product that big. But seriously, I am curious to find out the pros and cons of the blow up system in some of the more reasonably sized fixtures.
@JeffGrahamPhotography7 ай бұрын
@@wavelandEven the 4x4 Infinimat currently requires the giant 1600w ballast that weighs over 40lbs, has its own included dolly, and a separate flight case. Same one that comes with the Electro Storm series lights, and is the reason Andrew said he couldn’t fit one of those fixtures on his van. It’s looking like even the 4x4 Aputure isn’t a realistic choice for 1-3 ton vans.

@@JeffGrahamPhotography The output must be incredible, but yes, that ballast is a beast. Thanks for the info.
@JeffGrahamPhotography7 ай бұрын
@@wavelandI believe it is 800w output. I spoke to one of the engineers and they told me that eventually they would like to make an in between size ballast that is 800w. I still have portability concerns for smaller productions.

Looking at this, how about a yoke for the frame? Like mirrors and shiny boards have? That bottom pivot point seems like it could be a real finger pincher with all the weight up there
